Oh dear jake that chip on your shoulder needs a little bit more vinegar
27 years in the top flight was absolutely brilliant.
    One league Cup Final
    One zenith Data Cup Final
Both lost to the great Brian Clough and team
Runners up to Liverpool as well as going out of the FA cup semi again
    A few seasons in Europe
    One FA Cup final
But probably the best was seeing vast amounts of England players wearing the Red and White stripes
27 years of top top football and you were going down to div 4
    Well done

Yeah Possum, the Skates like to rewrite our history in the top flight, but I have witnessed some of the best players to have worn the England shirt....Kevin Keegan 2 times European footballer of the year, Peter Shilton, England's most capped player and best ever keeper, Alan Ball, World Cup winner, Alan Shearer, Mick Channon, Terry Paine, Dave Watson, Mick Mills, Peter Osgood..a grand total of seven England captains and countless other internationals.

Big deal! At one point in the Premiership we had four England internationals in the England team, namely David James, Defoe, Crouch and Glen Johnson in fact our entire team and subs bench was made up of full International players. Shame they all had to go<doh>

I remember your team containing England internationals and i thought at the time from past personal experience, what a great buzz as a fan that was.
But the trouble is SB your bubble was only in the air a couple of years and when it did go pop , it covered most of all the other leagues.
We had plenty of years to enjoy through out the 27 years and if you remember the two years out in 1976-77 were not two bad:cool:

To be honest, I didn't care for the PL much. I found it all rather sordid. Sitting in cramped seats and paying through the nose for the privilege, at various top flight grounds, Chelsea deserve a special mention for being utter money grabbers, in this regard.

I miss the terraces and hope that we could have them back, now we are allowed to?
