DB definitely deserves a statue. Henry is my greatest player at Arsenal, but it's a close run thing between him and Bergkamp
Id love to a statue of all of the invinciblers around the stadium. NOt all of them were Arsenal supporters and some are playing elsewhere like Cashley and Kolo, but maybe wait until they retire. I cant believe Im saying we should put a statue of Cole up, maybe he can go by the away fans entrance.
Nah, I don't think we should get carried away with statues for everybody as it reduces the worth of the others. Players like Henry, Adams and Bergkamp deserve them. And when Wenger retires he will deserve one too. Maybe in the future Jack Wilshere will have one, but they should really be reserved for the players who make a real impact at Arsenal.
Talking about Berkamp, I just stumbled upon this Video of highlights from our 7-0 thrashing of Everton in 2004. The guy was tremendous. Everything kept simple but with perfect precision. Pires,Henry and Vieira wernt too bad either.
You have to laugh at these Spuddies Already humiliated by the fact that Bergkamp said 'I'm not a Spurs fan' they still come back for more, making claims that have already been disproved. You can understand that they are upset by the revelation that Gareth Bale is an Arsenal fan, so I guess it's borne out of a frustration that their best player loves Arsenal, but it's a pretty poor show to have been proved wrong and still come back with the same claims.
I think it is being done (apart from obvious marketing reasons) for our new generation of young players, Wilshere etc.: look guys what you can get if you stay with us for life, it is bigger than any trophy.
One thing that hits you is they looked like a team of MEN. You look at the current team and they look like boys. Every single one of those players had a presence about them.
Ridiculous, sometimes the truth is to painful to believe. Who was that cretin that said they thought Walnut was better than Bale ? Chin up Sid
Like it not Bergkamp was a lillywhite before he joined you. Various news articles were published at the time. Only later was this watered down "to a love of Hoddle " as he didn't want to offend his fan base and stream of onward income. Any way we will never agree, so I wish you all well and may the best team win on Sunday
Believe it or not that was even after his hype calmed down a bit. Walcott is an extremely situational player that has been the most overhyped player of the last two decades for me. Whereas Bale just keeps producing no matter the opponent. They are not even remotely in the same class.
The club have confirmed the statue http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/arsenal-to-unveil-dennis-bergkamp-statue
Any evidence of quotes to back this ridiculous claim up? So far we've seen him flat out deny it, quoted word for word, but nothing to say that he was ever a Spurs fan rather than a Hoddle fan. Looks like on the balance of evidence, you were completely wrong.
