Would really love to see him play for us especially for that sort of price. He'd wear the 9 shirt with more pride than anybody else has in recent years and he still has a good few top seasons left in him despite his age. Though it's true, if Barton is unlikely to get a contract there isn't much reason why Ashley would be interested in signing someone new of a similar age.

I would love it too happen.

But unfortunately there is a wage/transfer policy that we all know about. Why change something if it aint broke?

I've given you rep for this. I never ever give rep because I don't believe in it, it's a way of slapping anothers ego about in the changing rooms (but without the wet snap of the towel) but your opinion of the Sun was genuinely witty.

Clearly a great player, but if wee're going to play one up top, I wouldn't have him, he doesn't work as a lone striker, too slow and lazy, would need him to play with someone quick like Gameiro or Shane Long

Does he play well as a lone striker? He seems way way too cavalier for that role.

  12. If he signs Berbatov for 7.5 million, it will prove to me that he's not signing Barton simply because he doesn't like him.

I've seen him link up the play for Man Utd a few times, managing to control the ball, get it down and lay it off to the likes of Valencia, Nani, Rooney.

So think he would be pretty decent in a similar sort of role for setting up HBA, Jonas, dare I say Gervinho?
