    Incisive comment as usual. Go back and watch the last two spells when Owen was fit for us. He played behind two strikers under Keegan linking defense to attack, plenty of running there. In the last few months of the relegation season our midfield was so toothless and uncreative (Barton and Nolan miiiiiiiiiles off form, Jonas not there yet, Smith and Guthrie were Smith and Guthrie) he was dropping back to the edge of our own area to collect the ball. Ineffective, yes. Lazy, not a chance.

    I'm not even going to bother arguing about this. It's like arguing whether or not Ronaldo dives.... pointless, yet some people don't seem to think so.

    I don't think it's fair to say Owen was lazy on the pitch, his problem was his attitude off it. He was only ever interested in Michael Owen, meaning he HAD to be playing for England over Newcastle which in turn led to his **** injury record. There's no doubt when he was fit he was banging in the goals. It's not fair to blame him solely for our relegation either, our whole team was abysmal.

    Please bring Berba to the Toon - **** his age, the man scored FIVE GOALS in one game last season! Against a club we couldn't even beat!
