I was bullied when I was 9, so my uncle got me into boxing from the age of 11. I kept it up right into University. I also took up Shotokan when I was 14, and got to brown belt (with 2 white stripes) by the time I was 17. The only reason I managed to get through school with the grades needed to get me into a good Cambridge college was because I learned how to look after myself. Mind, I never became a bully. In fact, I abhor them, and have spent my adult life standing up to them, something in which I take great pride. Both my lads are into boxing. They love it. Neither gets bullied, and neither is a bully.
