Benteke .is. a. Donkey....in our team. He was totally unsuited to our team right from the outset and I like a few here were surprised when he was bought and doubtful about his fitting well with our system.

(Villa should have asked to get him back on loan during the last transfer window)

 

The frustrating thing is that like you say a few of us said it at the time. The majority of his goals came from crosses and we were 20th on the list of completed/succesful crosses the season before under Rodgers. Unless we changed all of our wide players and our whole style he was never going to fit in.

 

Some fans saw his scoring record and expected him to replicate it.

Goals are not transferable. A Players style and fit with the team is far more important.
