I thought they were both excellent yesterday.
As has been mentioned on another thread Benny seems to bring a calmness to the defence. Didn't think I would ever say that! He really is a quality left back highly under rated by other fans (and some of our own).
And Parker was like the Parker of last season again.
The reason I mention them is they have both been out for a long time and both crucially seem to be back from injury and back in form at just the right time.
Hopefully Adebayor and Dembele will have a quick recovery from their knocks. If it were me I would not play them on Thursday and save them till Sunday however they feel. I want us to win on Thursday but I would much rather a win on Sunday.
With Kaboul's return imminent we are only missing Sandro and if Parker keeps performing like yesterday then it won't be too bad a miss.

Long may Benny be under rated, don't want anyone pinching him. He's easily good enough to play for a big European team IMO, good left-backs are hard to come by. :afro:<ale>
 
Beni and Lennon, both. I've long since got used to the fact that no other fans rate Lennon. I would never swap him for Walcott, and I doubt many other Spurs fans would. Such a team player, presses so effectively, intercepts a lot, brings the crowd to its feet with his dribbles.
 
Yeah that's a good point about Lennon.
Yes he doesn't score enough goals but he works so hard. He makes a lot of interceptions which get taken for granted. He has improved so much over the last few seasons as well. Long may they all be under rated!
 
I agree he has been poor recently but he's only young and going through a difficult patch. All the tools are there for him to be a quality right back. Maybe he will become a right winger in time? He's definitely better attacking than defending. Plus he did score the winner against the goons last season!
 
Benny has defiantly won me over in recent times, as in the past hes been the easy target due to his lack of concentration, but he doesn't look out of place and when you look at some of the full backs city, man utd, chelsea and the goons have, it makes you realise we're not in a bad position at all, in that area!

As for parker, he was still giving the ball away, mostly 1st half, as he sees too much of the ball, theres no VDV or Modric to pass too this year, so I think he feels he has to show more in an attacking sense, when I would rather he just won the ball back and gave it to dembele or bale ASAP!
 
Benny is naturally comfortable at LB and gives the team better shape. Naughton isn't up to it and Vertonghen is wasted there. It's criminal to play him at LB when he's so good at CB.

I didn't think Parker did much to stop Arsenal dominating possession, but perhaps that was part of the master plan! Spurs had the measure of Arsenal when counterattacking and exposing the weaknesses of their back four. He did work like a terrier in the later stages of the game to help preserve the lead when Arsenal chased the game, but he wasn't on top form.

Have to agree on Lennon. He may be the Prem's smallest player, but that doesn't mean he won't put a real shift in. If only he could add more goals to his game. Benny would be in my starting back four every time. It picks itself right now, but I would hate to have to choose between Kaboul, Vertonghen and Dawson.
 
Boss- Benny has been more circumspect since he returned very few of these infuriating back heels and square passes across the area.
But he looks better and better now.
Don't forget Parker made that beautiful through ball for Lennon- but it makes me crazy when he does his 360 turns and loses the ball.

Add to that Caulker improving year on year, in two years time AVB is going to have some dilemma on his hands!
