Agreed our favourite attacking methodology is to attack slowly giving the opposite a chance to set their defence, then we pass the ball around in front of them passing it round to one wing and then the other without actually probing an trying to bring the strikers in to play. After a while we will either try a cross or a through ball which will be blocked by the defence as the whole procedure was so lethargic and predictable that they knew what was going to happen before Snodgrass has even decided he was going to pretend to cross on his right foot before cutting inside so he can play the ball with his left, for the 6th time that game. And Kemp I was talking about wing backs in a 5-3-2 I agree that we use full backs, although in the modern game full backs are expected to get forward when possible.
We really do attack at snails pace. It's like we always want it to be fair so when it looks like we're outnumbering them going forward, we slow down and let their defence get back in to shape. I've lost count of the amount of times I've been shouting "Quicker, for f**k sake" from the Barclay this season. It's so blatant and completely infuriating. We also never try to get in behind the defence. Everything is in front of the opposition until we cross the ball to no one!
We do pass at a very slow speed, which is ok but it needs to be picked up at the correct times. It's the same monotony regardless of field position.
Not only is it slow, it's overly safe. I genuinely can't remember the last time one of our players played an inventive , difficult pass to our forwards, other than Wes. Johnson tries it but fails, and those who have the skill seem to be too worried to try anything.

Yes, but when your own fans are reduced to knit one, pearl one (a knitting analogy, so I'm told) then it's pretty obvious all is not well within the camp!
Mate I've been on our fans forums websites and we have the same problem! I think the polite term to describe our style of football at present is called "Functional".
Really?! Ours is best described as dis-functional! See our goals against column for evidence of this.
