I doubt many wanted Mourinho or Ancelotti to be sacked either. Either Roman is oblivious to the fans' feelings towards Benitez or he just doesn't give a ****. Always difficult for a manager to do well when the fans and the players don't want him to be there.

I disagree, I think the board are totally out of touch with us. Some fans spunk thousands of pounds a year to watch the team over land and sea (a lot of money to us average folk) yet they still manage to treat every manager like ****, and while some have deserved it (grant, scolari and arguably avb) the
majority haven't. I agree some faks are too sentimental and that can impact their thinking but I don't think the board really care too much about us.

I want a team of quality to win every game they play. I don't see that that differs in anyway from anything RA has done. Maybe you could explain how that is not their or most fans wish.
Sit down and actually look at RDM's league record. It's alright going out the CL early if you know you'll be back in it but we finished 6th last year and with RDM's percentage rate we would have likely finished there again. Keep a bloke you like by all means but then don't ****ing moan when we win **** all and can't compete.
I hear you but arguably it was the fans' wishes (coupled with pep saying 'no') that led to Roman appointing RDM in the first place. Remember this is a guy we all loved but would never have been our choice post AVB either. There were plenty of fans calling for AVB's head last xmas and plenty who wanted him to stay. Therefore whatever the board did would have been against the wishes of some fans.
I'd have given RDM more time but did any of us really think that without winning the C.L again he'd still be in charge come next summer? The recent results have given the club the chance to let RDM go with a little less backlash than they would have got last summer.
Interesting that you cite Avram as someone who deserved to be sacked when the difference between him and RDM was a wet pitch and a post in Moscow. Avram actually took us to a narrow 2nd place too.
I agree Roman probably doesn't care that much what we think, but it's his money and he has got to where he is making the tough decisions. It's worked out for us everytime so far (grant to a point, hiddink, RDM) so I'm prepared to see how the season plays out then judge him.
Hasn't Avram got the 2nd best win percentage we have had in a manager? Some fans make me laugh really. They want a successful winning team but only if it's with a nice bloke in charge.WTF does it matter who it is as long as we're challenging and visiting Wembley for finals. If we get to a final this year I wonder how many of these 'fans' will be clamoring for a ticket.

The moot point is is that the club is owned by a one man autocracy - in no way do the fans have any democratic rights despite feeling that Chelsea (or any other club) is their club.
This is how it is, at the end of the day you either accept this and support the club or you hit the de-support button!
Me, I'd say what would you rather have? All our pots and all our managers or to have had Wenger at the helm the last 10 years and no trophies? Mind you they've built some lovely apartments at the Emirates.

It's the same as at any club. Liverpool fans didn't want Hodgson,ManU didn't want the Glaziers. Tottenham didn't want to sell Berbs,Modric etc etc. What notice did the owners take? Zero,nada,nil. Listening to some you'd think it was only RA that acted this way.
Exactly that. Plus, Roman spends far greater sums on players, wages, potential new stadium etc than we fans put back in. The money I spend on a match tickets affords me the right to watch players like Mata and Hazard, not the right to sit in board meetings and decide policy. I don't pay to watch a movie and expect the right to demand who is cast in the lead role. The problem is we fans see football clubs as 'ours' where the reality is somewhat different...sadly!!
Ultimately however the club won't go out their way to pi55 the fans off but someone has to make these decisions and it's impossible to get it completely right. Especially when you have traditional fans' views against more modern fans' views (stay or go from S.B is the obvious example here - tradition v progression).
I agree with much of what you say. I bitterly disappointed with RDM going, but not suprised. He wasn't 1st choice for the job, but nailed it due to pulling the team together and making them fight together against everyone at the end of last season. As has already been mentioned, it is a results orientated "business" with super-high demands, particularly at certain clubs.
However, at some point, Roman & the Board have to realise that while we will keep winning things with a hire 'n' fire attitude, at some point we need stability.
I am really upset & angry that Benitez is the man chose to fill the post temporarily (not that anyone seems to be our manager for any longer than temporary). What next, Lamprad leaves for the US and Stevie Me gets signed!!! I know we've conceded a few too many goals (not suprising bearing in mind that we are trying to play very attacking open football), butwill Rafa revert to his preferred Zonal marking????
Not for long he won't, Chelsea were already going to struggle to meet FFP even before getting dumped out of the CL and paying off another manager.
Roman won't be bankrolling you any more but he'll sure as hell still be interfering and sacking managers.
Lets see how great constantly sacking managers is when your transfer budget goes from 200 million to 20 million a year.
It worked fine for us, zonal marking takes getting used to but is very effective.
Does anyone think that the temporary thing is just to soften the blow to the fans? RA may want him as full time by the end of the season.
Another person who thinks they have any idea how FFP will work out. Once again, I'm sure the people on the board at Chelsea know a damn sight more about our finances than you or I so I'll let them worry about it. We were told he wouldn't be spending a lot of money again this time 2 years ago and then went and spent 75 million on 2 players. Keep dreaming.

TBF, I think zonal marking is one of them things where when it works it goes unnoticed and when it doesn't it gets pulled apart by armchair pundits who are either failed managers or didn't have the bottle to 'suit up' themselves. Luiz pretty much plays zonal marking now anyway by the looks of things!!
