There's nothing wrong with having a different opinion, if it's at least a bit right - your opinion here is just flat out wrong.
Glad to see you admit your motives for posting it. However, if you were to educate yourself a bit about the game of football then maybe, just maybe, you would be able to post those alternative opinions in a format that others would be able to take seriously.
Berb - You are fighting a losing battle. Rafa is very much respected and loved amongst our supporters. Please consider what you say before jumping to conclusions based on your very limited knowledge.
I criticised him for signing 76 players at Liverpool when the majority were flops. I stated that he had a higher Net Spend than many of his rivals in his time at Liverpool, which a lot of Liverpool fans still refuse to accept despite it being proven. I criticised him for leaving Liverpool with a weak squad. I criticised him for driving out one of your best players in pursuit of a weaker replacement. I criticised him for his time at Inter where he took over a team with 5 straight league wins (and wins by some margin) and bought them down to 6th, miles off the top, despite the rest of Serie having not strengthened significantly. I criticised his sides poor Champions League performances relative to just a few months before. It's not my fault many Liverpool fans continue to make excuses for these failings.
Return of the Berb, you've made your point. Now let the other users who haven't post instead of having to read through posts that will probably end up in flaming. In other words, you said what you wanted, lets leave it at that.
I stopped reading here. As I said, try to educate yourself about the topic before posting. NB, educating yourself does not consist of using copy and paste to get info from another website.
Can't prove me wrong though can you? All you can do is call me an uneducated moron. How many players did Rafa buy for Liverpool? 76. Were the majority of those players hits or flops? Flops.
This is what proves you are a moron, one who swallows all media nonsense without questioning or thinking. Yes rafa did make mistakes, all managers do but look at that list of signings, how many were kids signed for free (or almost) how many have since been sold for a profit? I haven't got the time to do this for you so you need to, when you have done this, you might begin to understand what I am on about.
Have you not thought theres a reason why liverpool fans like benitez? He was obviously a good manager bar his transfers, but with a decent scout like who they have now in commoli he'd have done alot better. hes a brilliant tactian with good organization. hes a good manager and just got unlucky at inter to have to try and replace one of the best if not the best manager in the world without being able to make one signing and make it at least a little bit the team he wanted to build. he was great at valencia and had some great momments at liverpool ( bar hicks and gill )
Regardless of how much a player is signed for if he doesn't perform he is a flop. The job of a manager is not to buy players so they can be sold on at a profit, the job of a manager is to sign players who will improve the squad, which the majority of Rafa's signings didn't.
The managers before Mourinho all managed to win Serie A with Inter, and by some distance. By the time Rafa left Inter were 6th place and a long way off the top (I think they were something like 18 points behind). It wasn't going to be easy following on from Mourinho's success, obviously, but the team's performances dropped remarkably under Rafa. This was a league they had won easily for years yet under Rafa they looked very poor and lost to sides who would never have beaten them before, this is despite the rest of Serie A not spending hugely to strengthen after Mourinho left Inter.
You trying to say that buying players that can be sold on as a profit is not part of modern management????? Seriously Berb that surprises me.
Benitez has fallen out with his bosses at his last 3 jobs, whether they were idiots or not that is still something of a problem with authority. Why Berb feels the need to raise transfers when we're talking about Benitez for England is beyond me, perhaps he's swallowed so much media rubbish that he just permanently craps it out now wherever he is and however irrelevant it is. 'Net Spend' myth... check. 'Average Squad...check'. 'Include youth players in transfer lists...check'. The 3 steps to believing everything you hear. All you need now is some claims about zonal marking and squad rotation and you're set. Can't be bothered to get stuck into this argument as it's been had so many times, but if you fancy educating yourself Berb read these: http://tomkinstimes.com/2011/02/benitez-the-great-money-waster/ http://tomkinstimes.com/2009/10/the-benitez-myths-series/ "The current squad costs £140m, with four rival squads currently costing in excess of £200m. BenÃtez has spent a lot if you ignore how heâs had to sell players to buy better ones, making profits on many of his signings to reinvest. Sissoko led to Mascherano, Bellamy to Torres, and Crouch, indirectly (due to transfer fees owed), to Johnson. Surely the only gauge is what the current squad costs, as a manager will almost always put every penny available to him into the set up."
