Mr Ashton & Co now have plenty of time to look for someone to come in in January, they have to use the time we’ll because a striker in January I feel will be a must if we are serious about wanting promotion this year, the likes of Nagy and Massengo won’t be with us for ever we need to use their ability to help take us to the promised land.
City themselves probably didn’t announce it until it was confirmed medically. They will probably be certain but needed to wait till scans etc confirmed 100%. Problem nowadays is social media gossip beats full test. Just my take on why the delay
After watching that tweet it looks like he’s had some sort of operation (full or exploratory) So perhaps that was the delay.
I expected us to be fighting top two with Afobe on board now anything could happen. Such a shame he really looked the business and we looked very dangerous with him on the pitch,Fammy is so slow compared to Benik.
Goals Goals Goals Not sure where there coming from in the future. Fammy missed three chances today. Wieman not going to score 15 goals. We would have won today with Benik Afobe playing. I would give Kasey Palmer a go up front with Fammy think he could score goals and cause problems. We are back to square one,in-fact with Taylor out on loan we are weaker. We were at Stoke last weekend and we got lucky with the sending off which changed the game in our favour. I think if he had stayed on the pitch the result would have been different. Listening too LJ on the way home, the impression he gave was a point was a good result with all the key players out injured. January is a long way a way I hope they can pull the rabbit out of the hat and bring a striker in as what is available is not going too keep the club in the top six.
Everyone is right in saying we need a true goal scorer but where do we find one? It has been our downfall for way too many seasons and unless we go for the big time in January we will have just another mediocre season.
I take your point about needing a goal scorer , but honestly I don’t think we’ve had a mediocre season for a while. Credit where credit is due, to be where we are with the injuries we’ve had to key players, and bearing in mind the amount of new players we have as well is impressive.
Mediocre is probably a bit harsh and yet I am longing for the season where we get all our ducks in a row and push for promotion, but I can't see that happening this time out. I will be more than happy to eat my words in the spring and if we can move on from these tragic injuries we have had then I will be the first to say well done. Off to the Panama Canal next week so may be missing in action for a couple of weeks. Come on City.
I said it a few weeks ago, we could go for Wilfred Bony who’s out of contract at the moment. It’s a question of his wages and how long it would take to get him match fit.
He surely is worth a punt but as you say supcon his wage demands might be too heavy for a player who hasn't put on his boots in anger for quite some time. We will have to wait and see if Lee feels that another striker is needed. I have my doubts that he would be truly on our radar.
My second trip through the canal but this time it's eastbound and next March we travel the Suez Canal on a trip from Singapore to Savona. Retirement is hell not knowing what to do next.
Enjoy your travels you lucky bugger! I’m now just about able to drive to the shops or spend an hour in my local!
As I grew older with serious pain issues I made the decision to travel as much as possible to see our world. I recently found out that the problems I live with are not life threatening but more life changing and that is why Ann and I decided to continue our world travels. Just last week we had a visitor from Honiton who recently was bereaved and when we asked her to visit us here in Canada she was somewhat reticent to travel here due to serious health problems. After many months of considering her options she called us to say she was coming to visit and when she left here last Thursday she was in tears thanking us for the support we gave her at a difficult time in her life. Her final comment was about the beauty she saw here on Vancouver Island. To any of you experiencing medical issues that prevent you doing the things you wish I send you all my thoughts and best wishes.
That may muddy the waters , would rather we forget about him and concentrate on finding a top striker in January
Fingers crossed and hope he comes back firing on all cylinders.Still need a proven striker in January. Not so sure Rodri is the man we need or can rely on for goals.
I really hope that Afobe returns for some part of the rest of this season but we must not place all our hopes on his possible return.
