No I wouldn't vote, I agree with the Tories on the economy but in almost every other policy they are a bunch of inward looking nationalist ****s. I don't agree with Labour at all on the economy, but at least they are trying to help people - even if they are doing it wrong by giving men fish instead of teaching them how to fish.
They better be english fish and not smelly foreign fish, coming over here and stealing our fishs' jobs
You know when Dave Cam said he wanted to make work pay Well he was telling the truth, but he didn't say for who he wanted to make work pay £350 pw for a single person or £500 for couples is more than most jobs so they'll all end up on benefits and then be forced into workfare by DWP ****ers for rich companies
£350 is the cap. To get that much, you have to be in a 1 bed flat somewhere expensive. To rent a 1 bed flat in zone 1 or zone 2 in London, you have to have a fair bit of money (like a grand and a bit, which is a lot for poor people) + a job first. Only a few people will qualify for the maximum benefits, as otherwise your cap per week on housing benefits is not much at all. But I do agree that someone getting £1400 and a bit a month is a lot, it's only that not many people qualify for it.
The details don't matter to David Cameron, but public approval does. The benefit cap (whether for singles or couples) still would pay more than most jobs (even if it only applies to a few) but most of the public believe what their newspaper of choice tells them. So we have bankers and MPs being given state money to get them to work while we have the unemployed being sanctioned to get them to work. That is not capitalism or a free market and so the Tories are anything but conservative
. At last Toby - that's what we've all been saying in a nutshell. I don't think anyone believes they should be getting loads and laods of cash but the fact is the vast majority are not. I also haven't seen anyone arguing that beenfit fraud should not be addressed.
