From the Journal- The Journal understands United expect progress on the striker hunt early next week – and that they have been offered the chance to sign Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner.

Certain betting exchanges suspended trading on the Denmark forward joining Newcastle, but the Journal understands he is not a priority target and it is unlikely he will be making the move to St James’ Park unless there is a major change of heart among senior figures.

Totally undecided about him but seems i'm not alone there, comments on here range from total class to rubbish. we desperately need someone good in tho but agree someone quicker would be preffered and extra pace seems to be what Alan Pardew is looking for. Yes lots of big men for set pieces would be effective but do we want to be the new Stoke/Wimbledon.
