Steady on Cym. These are important points we're talking about here. See how he does against Chelsea in the CoC then maybe introduce him late in games when we're winning. No need to rock the boat, especially as Poldi will be back in about a month's time hopefully.
Home game against Norwich is a must win as we drew out last game, our next 2 in the league are must wins, Norwich and C.Palace, these are the 2 before we face Liverpool and United back to back, so have to pick up maximum points from these 2 games. Plus, these are the type of games and teams we should be beating if we want to consider ourselves as title contenders. We need to go with the strongest team possible this week, no gambles, no nothing, just go out with the best team and get the job done.
The only games coming up in the near future he should start are Palace, Chelsea (CoC) and maybe Napoli (depending on if we've qualified or not)
Wouldn't even start him VS Palace, there's the Chelsea mid-week game so he can start in that, again would make no sense to replace our best striker, for Bendtner, for no reason at all, this whole rotation to 'rest' somebody as many players themselves even say is nonsense, you play your strongest team, end of story, we need maximum points against Palace, so we need the strongest team possible. ****ing hell people, maybe it's time to tone down the arrogance a little thinking Arsenal have achieved something that we can start talking about resting key players in some league games, it's only October. Bendtner as this point, does not at all deserve to start in a league game ahead of Giroud, to just put him in for the sake of putting him in and 'resting' Giroud is a load of ****.
I'm sure it will depend on how Giroud is feeling after his international duties, far more than how Bendtner is doing.
Well obviously, but if he's fine, then there's no need to rest the man for the sake of resting him, we need to play the strongest team possible. Bendy can play the Chelsea cup game, and can prove himself in that game. From a footballing standpoint, there's zero reason for starting Bendtner ahead of Giroud on Saturday, none at all, as Gooner said, it's just a gamble, but why the **** should we gamble?
Ultimately Bendtner is using his enforced stay at Arsenal as a shop window for a January move so he will be a trier. Personally, after some of the things he said 2 years ago (and during the Summer) it's clear he detests Arsenal and wants out, he's just so selfish and stubborn with his wage demands he would rather watch games from his settee than play in them. If I were AW I would only use him if absolutely necessary, such as an injured Giroud, otherwise he rots in the reserves/bench until his contract expires. There's no way he's ever going to drop his wage demands to what he's actually worth so he's never signing another contract with us, so unless he can offer us anything others can't I'd be leaving him out
You are all still talking in extremes. If Giroud is fit and healthy and not suffering at all, then there is clearly no need to rest him, but he has played a lot of games now, without a break, and it is a valid option, to give him a break of one game than risk losing him for 10. I don't think you can reject it out of hand.
