The video of this brawl has been on you tube for months yet the England cricket selectors deemed him for to don an England shirt and represent the country.
Arguably he served about 4 months of a ban when the did not select him for Australia (the ECB can say what they like about the wording of "not selecting" but he would have gone if it were not for this)
Apparently there were other cricketers from the squad inside the night club they were trying to get back into - so not just Stokes and Hales

I'm not talking about a ban. He should have served a prison term for his actions. Could you imagine the furore if that had been a professional footballer?
He should never be allowed near the England cricket squad again. The fact that he is likely to be considered for selection says a lot about the people running England Cricket.

Were any of the offences as bad as that brawl/attack?
Stokes was not guilty of affray. The CPS deserve a bollacking for charging him for the wrong offence. Have a look at the video. If you think that is acceptable then that says a lot. There again, the whole thing could have been a stitch up to ensure he got off - https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2...-faced-assault-charge-ex-soldier-in-nightclub
