Didn't Reeves complete a pre-season with MK Dons? I am sure I read that somewhere... but ... then again I read somewhere else that he did a lot of running over the summer to keep fit?.... in reality, he probably had a bender in Spain.... that's what I would have done.

Surprised to hear you would have done a bender in Spain AHLL ?

Bottom line - it is bad management for a club in our position to be signing unfit players. Man City can afford to, we can't.

Judging by Charlton social media, questions will be asked if Reeves doesn't appear on Saturday in a playing capacity.

When Meire negotiated Ben Reeves' contract, do you think she stated that Charlton would start to pay him when he was fit enough to actually play football ?

A classic from Robinson this morning when asked about Ben Lucan-Reeves

" I am not saying he is injured and I am not saying he is fit"

<laugh>

So where is he then ?

Unlike Schrodinger's Cat, it is possible for Robinson's Reeves to be neither injured or fit.

Being out of shape because you haven't been training properly is not an injury.
But we signed Reeves SIX WEEKS ago - how long does it take a player to get fit if he is not injured?
Was he carrying an injury when we bought him that prevented him from training?
Or are we looking at a player here whose heart is not really in it because he still thinks he should be playing in the Championship.

I hope that is not the case.

Ben Reeves is still working his way back to match fitness.

“He has been running this week,” explained Robinson. “His scan came back fine. There is no scar tissue anymore. I’m not saying he’s injured – I’m not saying he is fit.

“He has got a little tiny strain when he came back through not having a condition [missing the summer pre-season fitness schedule as he signed just before the League One campaign started].”

In other words, Reeves let himself go over the summer while looking for the best pay day.
