    as have others and compared to so called first teamers he's been impressive and as a back up yes i'd risk him people forget last season he came back from a serious knee injury and judged him on his performances now he's fully fit judge him now
    besides i'd go for the team i put up on the thread "what team without ben arfa"

    Of course Lord Shola will take care of the business , but I would have loved to see Ben Arfa making Larsson look like the ****ty player he is.

    Damn it! One of my favourite players for years, I move to Newcastle, see one appearance before Man City breaks him, now I'm about to move and looking forward to one last time seeing him live...and he's injured again!

    Hardly surprising. I've not objected to anything Pardew has done since he took charge but I've said before, and said numerous times, that Ben Arfa shouldn't have been starting these friendlies and would have no chance of being fit enough to start the first few games of the season. It was a diabolical decision that he got any more than a twenty minute run out at the end of the friendlies so far. What's the point in nursing him back and then shooting ourselves in the foot? Though common sense would have stepped in at some point. Anybody who thought Ben Arfa was ready to start v Arsenal, let alone in the friendlies is seriously deluded. People will say it was a bad challenge, but something like this or another injury was innevitable.
