I think you're the king of that tbf.

We buy Santon to play games. In a game thats over. We leave him on the bench. We bring on Perch instead...

    Illogical. Pointless. Ridiculous.

Davide Santon could have 20 mins in the Premier League at the best team in the country and have that little bit more experience on the Premier League which he needs in which to develop into the player we want.

It doesnt get any clearer than that.

But yet Pardew chooses not to. And you lot agree, unbelievably.

Quick question: Why did Pardew bring on Santon against Spurs when we were 2-1 down? Answers please.

How about, now this is only a suggestion, we give him time to settle in the NE, what, with him being the only Italian player we have and all that. He hasn't even grasped English yet, how is that going to help him on the pitch?

I think he has had long enough to be honest.

Also how about we make the player feel part of the team and not alienated to reserve team football only.....just a suggestion.

We arent playing players based on language barriers now.....how much English does Suarez speak. Just picking one at random.

    hilarious.

He came on at right back.

We took off Cabaye. A central midfielder. We bring on Perch, a versatility player who can play CM. YOU wanted us to bring on Santon. A full back who doesn't play CM. You wanted us to bring on a player in an unnatural position even when he's rarely played for us in his natural position.

    <applause>

I agree Santon needs to come on at points, but at RB. We didn't need to take a RB off yesterday, because it wouldn't have benefited the game, so why bring one on?

There is no set limit to how long it takes for a player to settle in a new country <doh> To say he's had long enough is stupid.

If you read articles in the Chronicle, you'll know he gets on with the first team players, as they're helping him in training and not alienating him.

I wanted us to bring on Santon FULL STOP.

I dont care where we played him. Bring off Simmo. Bring off Raylor. I dont care. But seeing as we were resting Cabaye. Bring him on in midfield, it doesnt matter. Trust me, he can play their.

It's thoughts like this that ruined his Inter career, just being played wherever there was a player injured and not letting him nail down one spot.

    What do you mean: This?

Then we should have brought him on a right back then.

    Jesus Christ in heaven.

Hes good enough when we are losing 2-1 against a top 6 team....but not when the game is over....?!!

OK.. first of all.. were on earth did you hear that Santon can play as a ''central midfielder'' and second of all Perch is more accomplished in that position than Santon. Santon is a natural attacking full-back who can play RB and LB. What will be his natural position in the future? well that's up to our staff and Pardew to decide were he can play best. When he came on as a sub against Spurs it was as a RB so I'll imagine that will be his natural position in the future. Cabaye needed a rest and therefore Perch came on.. even Pardew knows bringing Perch on is better than Smith who would have have gotten a yellow that's for sure. <ok>

Santon will get his chance mate, don't worry.

You seem to be missing my main point is that as soon as they went 3-0 up....the game was over.

Their was an opportunity to bring on our big signing of the summer for 20 mins with no risk of losing points. Or upsetting the team.

Bring Raylor off. Bring Simmo off. Take ur pick.

The important thing for Santon is to play. He needs games. He needs minutes.

If you want to bring off Cabaye then stick Raylor in at midfield and play Santon in at left back. Its common sense mate. Players are not pegs in holes. You saying Raylor isnt a midfielder?

When exactly will Santon get his chance? And when he does, how much game time will he have under his belt? Zero by the looks of it. Its illogical not to play him within those circumstances. Totally illogical. The fact Perch came on instead confounds that point.

P.S. Santon can play across midfield to certain standard. Any scouting system you can find will tell you as much. Even if you play Football Manager, it will tell you as much. If you have seen him play he has just as versatile as Perch.
