Probably our one glimmer of hope in terms of creating chances...Not ideal would be something of an understatement.
I don’t know. He’s used 4-3-1-2/4-1-2-1-2 before. Given we’re now massively short on wingers, it would make sense. Two up front, a classic number 10 behind and a three-man midfield behind that. The personnel we have available suits it. Pandur Coyle-Jones-Hughes-Drameh Slater-Simons-Puerta Ömür Burstow-Bedia
We'll create chances on Sunday, converting them though ... The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Lot of cynicism on here, but really this is just unbelievably bad luck for Millar and Belloumi, and for the manager as well, of whom I am not a fan. Heard him say Millar was in tears after his injury. We give professional footballers a hard time sometimes, but it's a fragile profession.
Never rains eh.....arguably our 2 most influential attacking players done for the season, don't care who you are that's going to proper **** you over, take Saka/Odegaard, Salah/Diaz, Vini Jr/Mbappe (or Bowen and Turbo a la 2020) etc out of any top team and they'll feel it massively, just so absolutely gutted, Walter or not I always felt like this squad and team had something to offer this year, I'd been impressed immediately with Millar and for the past 2 months Belloumi has been our best outfield player hands down, capable of coming inside or going outside his man and making an impact, impeccable touch....without him I struggle to see where goals are coming from. Like the theory of going 3-5-2....but that means playing 2 of OUR strikers, hardly a prospect to fear for the opposition on current form.
Just agreed to go to a pre Christmas get together on the 14th December, when normally there would be no chance of me agreeing to anything like that on a Saturday. Sums it all up really. Hopefully I'll be wishing I hadn't and rather be at Coventry, but highly unlikely.
Bullards injuries weren't bad luck. He failed the medical because of dodgy knee, we couldn't insure him because of dodgy knee. He broke down (1st game?) on dodgy knee. That was utter stupidity not luck
He didn't break down, he was crocked by Parker courtesy of a hospital pass from Ashbee. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
It really can't be said enough how good his touch is. I can't think of another City player I've seen who could reliably trap a long pass dead whilst moving at speed like he does. This one from the Oxford game is beautiful, the second angle shows how well he traps it which allows him to create the chance instead of giving the two defenders the opportunity to get tight and crowd him out. He did a similar thing for the Pedro goal v Portsmouth.
I guess that's why we try to have 2 quality players for ever position, but even so Belloumi's injury feels like a watershed one.
