Can't believe boring old Belgium are in the last eight; really strange how the four European survivors are from such a tight geographical area
You and me in the same gang then, I stay away from that sort of thing too, but Klinsmann has done very well to get very average players to this point in WC far better than our so called PL stars!
I thought the USA were fantastic. Almost to a man they moved the ball around crisply and sharply, seemed to know where each other was, and were only really lacking that killer instinct in front of goal. Big lessons for England.
Great game last night & full credit to the USA for putting up a great fight, thought the right back who came as sub was outstanding, yedin I think, like the look of Bradley & bresler & gonzalas.
It's amazing how much desire, pride what wanting to play for your country can impact upon a team. USA, Costa Rica, Switzerland, Nigeria and others all far, far better performances than our shameful mob. I really believe that an England team consisting of non-Premier League players who have something to prove and the opportunity to put their names before a global audience, would surely have fared better. They really could have done little worse than the bunch of generally usual suspects that Hodgson amassed. The more I see of the World Cup, the more irritated, angry and embarrassed I feel about the pisspoor shambles that is my national team. Get rid of Hodgson, replace with someone dynamic and start afresh. Oh yes, and kick out all the aged players from the team, those who have been rooted in place for aeons. Don't argue that we need International experienced players, because when it has really mattered, most of that International experience has only been in losing.
