I can't see these tyres lasting considering the way the track has dried over the week end, will someone pit for inters at the start? Need some dice thrown as this could be a grandstand finish.
From the BBC Carlos Sainz has been on the team radio giving his thoughts. The Spaniard suggested that instead of starting behind the safety car for five to six laps, "which bores us all", could the FIA wait a bit longer until the track dries out and they can run a bit more competitively? ********** Didn’t make it today , bloody cold / cough that will not shift , so played safe so that I can be 100% for tomorrow ****
If they can’t start this race on this track with full wet tyres in the current conditions without the safety car they should be embarrassed
Formula 1 isn’t safe it was so dangerous they all went straight into inters. If it has been raining and started behind the safety car that’s different.
If Norris had slammed his brakes on so that Max hit him damaging his front wing during the pit stop so that Piastri could win the race what would have happened?
Could have been a different case had they just hit the track with a normal start. Some running and a bit of sunshine improved conditions considerably. Given the tragedies here in recent years, I'm all for being cautious. The spot after raidillon is no joke.
