Many years ago the landlord of my local always used to make sure it was hot saveloys for the food for the ladies darts and pool teams. Every single time.

Saveloy comes from the French cervelas or servelat, ultimately from the Latin cerebrus; as it was originally a pig brain sausage.

    There's your mystery sorted. :emoticon-0119-puke:

I'm sure they are, but not as many as those who can tell that a post that links to wiki, was copied and pasted from wiki.

Don't understand all this fuss about Gin, to me it's like Vodka, both drinks are not to my liking even if I did walk into a tree after a vodka session many (many, many, many) moons ago. Now if you mention brandy, dark rum or spicey rum then I would have a toast to that, Congac is too expensive for me, in fact a brandy would go down well now. Cheers <cheers> (I know its a pint of beer/larger).

Just popped into The Lion in Sandbach. Usually a good place for a decent pint.

Not let themselves down today. Four guest beers. Good session choice is Marstons EPA, £1.85 a go.

    That’s 10 pints for less than £20.

    Wonderful.

Dark rum is currently my go to as gin seems to make me melancholy.

Goslings is pretty good I've found.
