My taxi driver from Weston coach terminus to home on Thursday asked where I'd been, when I said Norwich he told me the best fish and chips he'd ever tasted were from a chippie in the centre of Norwich several years ago. Unfortunately he couldn't remember what it was called!
There's that chip place near The Lamb Inn. Not sure if that place is very new, or If it was just re-vamped resonantly. There's also a brilliant, highly rated chippy near The Belgian Monk. Could be one of them.
I don't like the look of the one near the Lamb Inn (Orford Plaice I think it's called and has only been open a year or so) and the other one must be the Grosvenor and my son and his mates are most impressed by it, so I'll give it a try. don't think it will beat the Chip Inn or Stafford Street though!!!
That's what I thought, but if my son likes it, I'll at least give it a try and see if it has improved!!
OK, I know it's not quite beer or chips, but felt that this was the best thread for this - Bullards Norwich Dry Gin has been voted the best at the 2017 World Drinks Awards and is distilled at the Ten Bels pub on St Benedicts St!!!!! - http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/bullard...fter_a_year_since_it_was_first_made_1_4955457
Now having a lovely pint of Oakham Citra and i see they've also got Jaipur on, so I'll have a pint of that before walking 2 miles home!!
Met up with a couple of mates at the Beehive for several (5) pints of Oakham's Bishop's Farewell and then decided to walk the 2.2 miles home, which according to Google maps should have taken me 44 minutes and I made it 42, so was well pleased!!!
I'm just amazed I managed to walk it in that time and can't remember too much of the walk!!! And mine - it's nearly always on in the Fat Cat which is only just over a mile from me!!!
