I am not sure anyone has written us off for the title. This has not happened seriously for decades now. Every now and again, after a non- successful season we would have some no mark - usual ABUs pricks on these boards- saying that the United era was over and that Whoever were champions - ££ity, Chavs, gunners, - would be at the top for years and United would go on a decline...<laugh>

Seriously though for those who can remember the disastrous post Busby period, with the likes of Wilf mcguiness, sexton, fat Ron, this period is one of trepidation. I will know within a few weeks whether we will be OK this season <ok>

I do not think that man utd if no major signings will win the league this season, you cant under estimate the fergie factor, I think utd will be 2nd or 3rd

Don't take notice of them, they are like Cardiff supporters.

The pundits said we would go down two seasons running, and Cardiff say they are a bigger club than Swansea. We all know both statements are fanciful bull****.

It's a tough one to call
If Moyes can successfully negotiate the very tricky opening few games I think Utd will take all the beating but a slow start will bring the media vultures in and the pressure will mount very quickly

Chelsea will clearly improve just by having Mourinho but I'm not convinced with his defence and the midfield is too easily bullied out of it by the better sides. Also the weakest forward line of the 3 clubs
I think they will drop away

Man City have the squad but Pellegrinis biggest job will be getting the players to run through the walls that they wouldn't do for Mancini.A fairly easy opening set of games up to the derby gives him a good chance to settle in and it's helped to get the new recruits in early so the adjustments can be done preseason
Losing Tevez has been highlighted as a big blow but I felt it essential to get the divisive characters away from the club and see that as a positive
At the back is my main concern with Lescott & Boyata clearly not good enough as back up so we need a quality ideally left sided centre half.At left back we only have Clichy (Zabaleta can play there but it's not ideal) as Kolorov is a dreadful defender and a total liability

Utd are just about favourites for me

Probably a fair assessment. For all the transfers done by City and Chelsea, they have only closed the gaps that existed between their squads and Utd's squad last season. Utd and City still have the better squads, tho' Utd's first team is probably the weakest of the three at the moment.

It's all very finely balanced, and far too close to call imo. All depends on who starts the season best, and responds well as the season develops. That's probably where Chelsea may have the edge to make up for their weaker squad.
