Wow, lucky lad. I nearly went to Columbia University in New York. I was 18, had 10 days over there looking round and playing some football (soccer). I had an amazing time and the decision to not stay is possibly the one decision that I made for the right reasons, but was a wrong decision. You'll love it.

Oh bollocks. I don't think I have any skills which Americans don't have so that throws a spanner into that. Unless I become a geography teacher maybe? Is there much demand for geography teachers in America?

And yeah, their immigration officials are a bit mean. One was a bit of a dick the first (and alas, only) time I went to America, which was pretty nasty as it was the first time I'd flown solo. Scary.

Maybe I should consider the marriage option. Problem is I only know one single female American who I went to primary school with. She's actually really attractive and we have a lot in common (personality wise and in terms of interests) so regardless of the impact that might have on my chances of living in the USA, I would be interested in her anyway.... but living in Massachusetts kinda makes that difficult!

 

I wanted to go this year but all but the uber expensive had sold out by the time I found out that the tickets were on sale, two games is pretty awesome though, dunno which one to pick! Are SF the Giants? Or is that baseball?

Saying that, I don't think she's really into American Football. She's a massive Gleek and Harry Potter fan though (bit like me in fact, except I haven't seen Glee in concert unfortunately).

As for the emigration system, I'd have thought they'd make it a bit easier if you're British considering us and Americans are basically just, plus Americans seem to like British people generally speaking.

 

SF Giants is Baseball. The football team is the 49ers.

 

A toss up really, though might be good to make the Indian batsmen field for a bit more tomorrow.

 

What I would do if I was Cook is bat until we have a 250 run lead and then declare, or until we're all out, whichever comes first. We could bowl India out for less than 250.

 

I'm not sure! You should check out the US immigration website, there are a fair few pathways... I'm sure there'll be one you can work towards eventually if you want to go there enough. Or just pursue the girl! Why not? I have known the girl I'm going over there for since I was 16 and have been in a 'long distance relationship' with her since I was 17. Nearly at the end now, it's not so bad!

On a Southampton note, her first ever 'soccer' game was when we lost 1-0 to Bristol City on that freezing night in the Championship last year. It was the first time I could coax her to come along, and it was absolutely dire... unsurprisingly I haven't convinced her to attend another game since.

 

Got to be careful that we leave time to win as the series is balanced. Two whole days would suggest play a session tomorrow and tire them out a bit more. Don't declare tonight as that would give them the chance to get prepared.

 

Yes, I think bat on until lunch and then declare, if we're still in of course. That leaves 5 sessions to bowl India out on a pitch which ought to be doing something to help Monty and co.

 

I'll be getting up fairly early to listen in to Aggers and co on Sports extra. But I will not get up at 3am to listen to cricket so I'll miss the first half of the days play.

He hasn't been with a club since Pompey. It will just be Arry doing Ben Haims agent a favour and putting him in the shop window for the next foolish club to offer him massive wages to either be **** or sit on the bench. I wonder if Arry will get a little down payment on the transfer

 

Don't count on that one working. Mate of mine married an American woman, about 6 years ago. He's retired, on a good pension and with a few quid in the bank, but it still took about 3 years before he was granted residency.
