I've pretty much sacked off my whole degree to get fit now. Will probably be able to do my third year project in a week right?

A week? Pssh, could be done in a night if you allow it to be handed in right on the deadline.

I'm very motivated to not be a gym guy. Those guys piss me off.

"Hey bro, do you lift?"...**** off.

Haha I'm basically the same, would really like to get into it, but I haven't played any sport for about a year now after a couple of injuries that left me with the knees of a 70 year old, need to get motivated and get fit but being lazy is soooooo much easier.

I can imagine, cornerback would probably be my most dreaded position, I accelerate like Jos Hooiveld, and I would probably have to tackle like him too to stand any chance.

Which is exactly what happened to me. Spent about 48 hours straight, countless cans of energy drink and a final sprint to the office to hand it in with literally 3 minutes to spare. It was horrible! Don't do it like that if you can avoid it.

Have you ever said something along the lines of "Hey bro, how much you bench?" or "You lift, broski?" If so, then yes you're a terrible person.

If it helps, the receiver's speed means jack **** if your coverage is good, more because you're taking away an option for the opposing QB to pass to. It might not show on the stats sheets, but it all helps the team as a whole, especially if it leads to a QB sack or an Interception.

By "gym guys", I don't mean every guy who goes to the gym. I had a membership for 2 years myself before I got too lazy. I'm talking about a specific type of person, much like the equally annoying "car guys". They just don't shut up about it and they're all over Facebook talking about bulking and uploading photos of every meal.

I guess, but I only ever hear that word used in American stoner comedies. Also they're good at sports; "gym guys" don't actually have to be good at a sport, unless you count boring me to death as a sport.

Of course, I would hope I would be able to jam them at the line and be able to cover them well enough, but in a straight foot race I would get burned which is why I don't think I'd ever be comfortable playing there, you can make up for it with skill but I just don't rate myself as much of a Darrelle Revis! That's why I'd be much happier some where central where it's a lot easier to make up for a lack of acceleration.

Oh, I've heard the term jocks used over here a few times and in real life. Must be drifting in from American TV.

Linebacker involves running which involves me not doing it. If I was playing I'd be in the trenches somewhere.
