It finished 2-1. Pompey didn't start well the defense looked a bit shaky. I think the occasion of playing at Fratton Park for the very first time got to the players, moreso than the Tottenham players. The first Tottenham goal was from a long range pile-driver from a half-cleared corner (think a less impressive version of Pedro Mendes) while the second was as a result of a weak back pass from the defence. Second half we were all over Tottenham and tore them to pieces and the Tottenham goal was under siege for most of the half. Tottenham had about two or three shots in the entire second half, two of which were from free-kicks. We also should have equalised, Charley Wilson scored a stunning and acrobatic volley, but the referee apparently forgot that you can't be offside when the ball is pulled back.
Which is a shame as the players were so happy when we scored our second.I'm glad a Pompey player did score though because it would have meant so much not just for the scorer but the entire team to get that first goal.
