Oh, absolutely right. Comedy is hugely subjective. Personally, I was using Beefy's comment as an excuse to express by disappointment in all TV. I find it hard to believe that the more channels there are out there, the more formulaic the programmes have become. I practically inwardly grown when I hear that there is another one in the pipeline. Even BBC FOUR has lost it's way.

BBC4 has hit the doldrums, but am hopeful something else will appear. Am hopeful of The Tunnel (remake of The Bridge) on Atlantic and will give Ichabod Crane a go (despite being another fantasy/time travel show) on Universal. The latter has yet another Englishman in the starring role...must really piss American actors off. Luckily for me I like forensic cop stories...a lot of them still about (though I wish American CSIs would wear proper clothing and not let their hair trail into corpses :)).

Great night at the Mayflower with Le Tiss. Really enjoyable. Anybody else get down there?

I showed Clopclop to my sister and her friend, I think they're still scarred. I'm still lurking on Reddit but I'm getting quite tired of it because it seems to be full of ****s. If you don't fit into the hive mind opinion you're treated like ****. Also whenever someone posts "so brave" I want to hit them.

I really hope they're all children. If adults are like that now I might have to hang myself.

Watched Citizen Kane for the first time. Not sure why I hadn't done that before.

No problem mate. I believe there are 5 parts in all, so if you are awake at the end of those, you weren't that sleepy. ;)

I've watched it at least 5 or 6 times over the years, and I know that, technically it many ways, it is a superb film, but I don't enjoy it that much. I think the subject doesn't matter enough to me to fully engage with it. The film isn't beguiling like some other great films. One has to work at it and we all get lazy at times, especially when we are relaxing.

Going to have yet another pop at 2001, I think.

It did take a lot of concentration. I also don't think it would have much replay value. Watching it once was enough, but I enjoyed it a lot. Orson Welles was bloody amazing.

Yeah, I'm a bit of a fan. Touch of Evil is superb.

I've forgotten where I put that bloody 2001 DVD :(
