I can actually see it. It hasn't worked out for him at Barca, who now have Thiago coming through as well. United need a centre mid. I was pretty convinced they'd approach Fellaini, but Fabregas is good too.

I wasted 5 mins of my life last night watching Britains got Talent - can someone let me know what qualifies Amanda Holden to judge anyone`s talent, or lack of it ?

I remember as a kid, my late Dad used to say of the Star Trek series... we'll never see any of that in our lifetime. Well, he was wrong on the solid state recording devices, the general purpose and medical tri-corders, which are just about to arrive, the personal and tablet computers, and just about everything else, as well. And now Warp Speed may actually become a real possibility. Dare I say, not in our lifetime..? No, I don't think I do.

 

I think we're at a stage now where we realise pretty much everything is possible, and the main problem now is whether it's affordable. It's quite frustrating to think that we're capable of doing so much (space travel, terraforming, growing new body parts from stem cells, ditching non-renewable energy, augmented/virtual reality, possibly creating a warp drive, bringing the wooly mammoth back into existence) but can't due to financial or political reasons.

We both know that the World could be made sustainable, the finances could become a non-issue and the politics would disappear, if it wasn't for greed, on whatever level you care to examine it. Perhaps, one day that final Star Trek-ism will come to pass, that of a World Community with zero poverty, but I can confidently say it won't happen in my lifetime and probably not yours either. And it's arguably the most important advance of the lot.

 

Yep.

The day the human race stop spending all our money on bickering with each other we can really kick on, it's hugely disappointing that we have pretty much gone backwards in terms of space exploration since the 1960's.

 

Ron Davies has died. RIP.
