On Saturday before the game, I'm going to the Apple store to shell out £1000 on an iMac ......convince me why I shouldn't buy one?

because you're only paying tha tmuch for a computer because it looks pretty and you get a certain status with it.

Where are you sitting olly?

Liam Neeson:

"I don't see there being a third movie, she can't be taken again. That's just bad parenting"

Bet they will still make a 3rd film, probably something like his daughter gets a bf and he works for the government. He ends up in Dubai with neesons daughter but gets taken by a radical muslim terrorist group. Neeson and his daughter join forces to free him any way possible.

I really, really hope they don't make a third. A second was already taking it to far!

Same tbh, I think a prequel could be good to show how he learnt his skills etc. But to make just another film would just be stupid.

Not a bad idea and I'd certainly prefer it to a third! But Neeson makes the films, and presumably if it were a prequel to Taken, learning his very particular set of skills etc., then it would probably have to be played by a younger actor?

Have a look at it on tha apple store, it's the 21.5 inch screen that retails at £1099.00

Looks like the one with an 2.7GHz i5 processor and 8 GB RAM? If so, you ought to be able to do better in the price range you're looking at, IMO. For one thing, the one I'm seeing has a pretty middling graphics card (GeForce GT 640M 512MB); with a screen that large, you're going to have to set the resolution at a rather sub-optimal level to get solid performance out of it. For £28 more, you could get this, which is a Windows 8 (boo) i7 PC with twice the RAM, three times the HDD, a better GPU, and a 21.5" external monitor. It'll handle most anything for quite a few years, and it's a hell of a lot easier to keep current, as well, unlike the all-in-one.

Also, I didn't realize how big of a difference there was in pricing between Canada and the UK. The same computer retails for the equivalent of £835 here.

Spend the same money on a desktop/tower PC and get double the power and capability. Or spend it on a Windows laptop and get almost double the power and capability, but without the desktop/tower's upgradability, flexibility, ease of repair, ease of use and a host of other things. You won't catch me buying a laptop and you certainly won't catch me with an Apple product. You're falling into the marketing trap that Apple have set for you. Don't be fooled.

£1000 would buy an incredible PC. I'm going to save up for a properly good one, and never buy a ****ty, unreliable laptop again.

Does anyone on here have any experience with using an SSD instead of an HDD?

I'll do the same as soon as I'm settled in one place - in uni I do a lot of moving so need to take my laptop with me. Will hopefully save up for a proper PC after, though.
