I still think that it's unlikely that a Lambert deal takes place because of the valuation there...6m is a pretty hefty sum for a player in their 30s, but it's not the sort of sum that's likely to cause Cortese to bat an eye, given his importance to the team. Unless someone forgets his age and offers a very large amount, or a team like Liverpool swoops, I'd expect Rickie to stick around.

Can't see why Lambert would want to go to WHU, unless Saints were relegated. Under those circumstances, it might make sense at his age in order to stay in the PL. Six million is a decent price (doubt anyone would offer more), but probably not enough to tempt Cortese. No truth in it really.

Right New Zealand v England is underway 24 hours late. England 3-0 after 1 over. Bizarre that a test match is starting at 9pm!

Disaster for England. 19/3 now with Cook and KP (first ball) back in the pavilion.

Oh FFS. England are 71-5 against a mediocre bowling attack on a flat pitch. England will lose the Ashes at this rate.

I think it's just our typical arrogant start .

We should win this series . I think we will beat the Aussies , they are quite poor at the moment .

England often start poorly in series...never understand why. Perhaps they like to have their backs to the wall.
