I watched a few episodes of Dexter but didn't really get into it. Anyone seen the new Sky series? Think it's called The Following.

Oh yeah, also, did Rickon actually appear before the last couple of episodes? I don't remember seeing him at all.

Haha, no I don't think so. I was thinking Bran was the youngest Stark for ages. Apparently he did also get a direwolf, and its name is Shaggydog.

How many did they find at the start... didn't they say five for five children? Robb, Sansa, Arya, Bran and then the runt for John? Or were there always six? :p

EDIT: Just put it back on. Rickon did exist from the start, they found the dead direwolf, and John pointed out "five pups for your five children", refusing to take one himself because he's "not a Stark" until they found the runt. Also Rickon is there to meet the King, but he's kind of, stuffed out of shot for most of it. So he was acknowledged, the writers and producers just didn't give a ****.

Just had to watch the scene again to clarify.

Jon: "There are five pups, one for each of the Stark children". (meaning Robb, Sansa, Arya, Bran and Rickon.)
    Bran: "What about you?"
    Jon: "I'm not a Stark"

Then Jon notices the runt, and Theon's like "that one's yours, Snow!".

    So yeah, there were six.

Is it Jon or John? I think I just call him John to differentiate from the newsreader. But yeah, see my edit above, I did the same.

The lineup meeting Robert was great. Greets Ned ("you've got fat"), Cat (m'lady etc), goes along the line - Robb: "You must be Robb!" Sansa: "Pretty one!" Arya: "And what's your name?" "Arya" Bran: "Show us yer muscles!" and what does Rickon get? He gets his hair ruffled very briefly and then the camera swiftly moves on.

Yeah it's the same as the newsreader. Also, if you weren't sure what the deal is with surnames in this world, bastards don't take their family name, and instead have a designated name depending on which region they were born in:

    The North: Snow
    The Vale: Stone
    The Riverlands: Rivers
    The Crownlands: Waters
    The Iron Islands: Pyke
    The Westerlands: Hill
    The Reach: Flowers
    The Stormlands: Storm
    Dorne: Sand

This only applies to the members of noble houses, though, because commoners in Westeros don't actually have surnames at all.

It really is a Tolkein-esque level of detail.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG. A girl I met at work, one of the most beautiful, kindest, nicest girls I've ever met , with whom I get on really well but since I've known her she's been in a relationship (well, not that I knew when I first asked her out).... but it's just come up on Facebook that she's now single.

Okay that's pretty awesome. I just assumed Snow was the name of his mother because he wasn't worthy of his father's name. I haven't read any of the books so wouldn't know, thanks for sharing.

I also just found out that Bronn is Jerome from Robson and Jerome, which is amazing.

I haven't read the books either, I just had to google it because it was confusing me. Presumably it means that Gendry would have one of those names, if anyone knew who he really was. Confusing **** right there.

That Robert's blacksmith bastard? If there's a relationship blossoming between him and Arya then I'll have to question the direction the show is heading. Incest is fine but that ****'s weird.

Yeah that's the one. The Arya storyline is awesome in season 2, but I'll let you wait and see for yourself. I love her and I want her to be my sister. Such a little badass.

I already think she's pretty cool. Far less useless than Sansa and far more fun than Bran.

    Who's Jim and Pam?

So do I, but we certainly seem to be quite close so maybe there's a slight chance. We went for a meal just the two of us just on Thursday, and we've gone out for meals before. I dunno if the meal on Thursday has anything to do with what's happened.
