THIS is why I love the AFCON. Mad haircuts and crazy celebrations.

Just channel hopping and saw there's some international netball on, England v Australia. Have to say, I'm surprised how big the crowd is, it's ma-hussive. Also, the slick passing of England, wow. It's like watching the Barcelona of the netball world. Plus, it's always good to beat Australia in any sport.

Andy Murray has been presented with an award from journalists for being the most helpful and friendly player on the tour...shows how people aren't always what you might think.

When my daughters were at school they were both in the school netball team at different times and I used to enjoy watching them because it was such a tactical game. When I watched my nephews playing football that was just so boring because all the boys ran around chasing the ball and the big boys ran the game even though they weren't the most talented.

He has been ill for some time and knew that he had only a short time left. Faced it bravely though.

Yep. Bit of a Tory, but anyone who faces down their known [and timed] departure from the World deserves respect. As they say though, he'd had a pretty good innings.

He apparently was considering going to Dignitas after he was told his illness was terminal. Do the Tories normally support euthanasia?

Not as far as I know. I believe they took a dim view when they found out that former Conservative minister Alan Clark was said to have considered suicide, Actually, Joe, if you get the chance to read a politican's memoirs, I can recommend Alan Clark's. Extremely honest and personal.
