Used to watch it in my youth, but these days I read up about it the next day. This year I must admit that the event is a little bit special, so I have it going on, on another webpage. Emily Simmonds [on now] would make a worthy winner, as would all of them.

I agree, but have just turned it on and seen the scenes at Eton...fantastic. The Olympics were wonderful...so much happiness generated.

Ticket prices have been announced for the u21 game at Eastleigh stadium. Some people weren't sure if you could get in when it was mentioned before.

It certainly is. I've got a bit of a Jack Cork thing going on right now though.

I tried to phone in to vote for Nigel Adkins but told that is not possible. Disappointed.

Not even an option for Rickie Lambert.

I tried three different ways of voting with no luck at all! Text wouldn't send, direct phone engaged. Swamped I guess.

I didn't bother trying. It was clear that Wiggins was going to win.

Although this was arguably the best ever year for British sport, Wiggo did something that a few years ago no-one in their right mind would have believed possible. A British person winning the Tour de France? On yer bike...

When Coe came up for his award I thought bloody hell I am looking at the next Tory Party leader and then he blew it by praising his teachers.

No good solid prospective country leading Tory ever praises teachers if he knows whats good for him.

The Tory's hate teachers more than they hate the poor.

So now we know it is Boris to win the next General Election for the toffs.

I have £500 at 1000 to 1 that the world will end on the 21st.

I am looking forward to collecting my winnings.

You'll all be sorry you didn't back the end of the world at those odds.

Not just me who thinks Seb Coe is a smarmy little so-and-so nowadays then? Utmost respect for his sporting achievements, but all this ambassadorial stuff since is actually putting me off him. The amount of backside-crawling he has done over the past few months has been worthy of projectile vomit.

    New Tory leader, indeed.
