I had to dress up as a cheerleader for my American Football initiation on Friday. Now that was a lot of fun.

Why is it that fancy-dress parties always fall around this time of the year..? They don't even have to be about ghouls and witches. I've been to probably 3 or 4 of these in my time. Usually, it's the old bed sheet or bandages for me, as it is often a short notice invite. However, back in the 1990s we got a chance of hiring costumes, and of course we went as Darcy and Elizabeth of Jane Austin fame. I say, of course, because everyone else went as policemen, doctors, mummies, witches, you name it. Me and the Ex couldn't fend off the opposite sex wanting to talk to us. I wonder why..? :)

Maybe that's a better way of putting it, the trick-or-treaters get on my wick.

Every year I say I'm going to harass trick-or-treaters in some way, and every year I forget. I want to set up an array of traps on my driveway. Tripwires, landmines and such. Failing that, I'll set up camp on my roof and snipe them with a vodka-filled water pistol.

Can I suggest water bombing..? Only with small sandwich bags, of course. You'll need some elastic bands too ;)

I'm suggesting that because your post reminded me of a time when I was running a shift of workers making microfiche. This was a 24 hour business, so other shifts would come in to take over. One of the shift changes occurred at 10pm, which meant there were few people around except our personnel. We used to bombard the incoming shift with multiple water bombs, from the SEVENTH FLOOR of the building. Unfortunately, as with all things, it got out of hand, and so I had to call a halt to it. For a while though it was very funny watching the incoming shift dodging this way and that, as they tried to put our people off their aim. Of course, we too had to tread very carefully, when leaving and arriving.

Of course, your little bit of fun can't get out of hand because you only have one night to enjoy. :)
