With Halloween coming up, I thought I'd post this relevant article. Apparently shelters refuse to allow adoption of black cats at this time of year, for fear that they'll be tortured or sacrificed. I've said it before and I'll say it again: superstition is ****ing moronic.

Very sad day! thoughts with all those affected.

 

I see the UK economy is back into growth, helped by the Olympics and Paralympics, apparently. I wonder if it will be an Olympic blip of growth..?

 

I also see that an MP in the House has noticed the BBC's report on fans costs in the Premier League, and has urged supporters to go and watch their local non-league clubs.

Whilst I have every sympathy for this view, what is required is that clubs lower their prices, and substantially so. However, it's all about what the market will bear. It is no easier to make a whole mass of football supporters, up and down the country, to all behave as one mind and go off to their individual local clubs, as it is to get all the Premier League clubs to behave as one and lower their prices, thus giving no advantage to any club, within the Premier League.

I hate Halloween.

Well for now I will.

 

On the whole, I like Halloween. What I don't like is the time of the year. This weekend the clocks go back, dramatically plunging us all into a stygian darkness of the oncoming winter. That maybe be appropriate for such things as Halloween and Guy Fawkes Night, but I prefer a decent amount of light during the usable day for my mood. I'll probably start to look forward again when the end of the shortest day arrives on December 21st, with the knowledge that the Sun is on its way back to us.

 

The Serbian Football Association has confirmed Nikola Ninkovic and Ognjen Mudrinski have been suspended from playing in all national teams for a year, following incidents at the Under-21 international against England in Krusevac on October 16.

Well they've changed their tune quickly considering they were blaming England for the disgraceful scenes.

 

I would also have them play behind closed doors for the same time period.

 

I think Halloween is my favourite holiday actually. It's the one time I don't mind getting drunk in a costume. Usually I hate costumes. Trick-or-treaters annoy me, but there are plenty of ways you can have fun by scaring them.
