Oh dear. Liverpool really do have a severe lack of strikers now. Borini has broken a bone in his foot. If anything happens to Suarez they are ****ed!

I read somewhere today that the Stoke defenders ruffled Suarez's hair, while he was on the floor, in the same manner as adults sometimes do to children [always hated that]. I hope that impinged upon Suarez that what he'd done was actually rather childish, and cheating.

I really don't want to irritate Pompey supporters who occasionally frequent this site, but Appleton has shown enough talent, commitment, grit and results to deserve a chance at Bolton. The problem being, I think PFC would have to go some to better the manager they have, under the circumstances. I think he's done very, very well indeed, so far. For their sakes, I hope Bolton don't come calling.

If the FA would act. maybe he would, and players like him would also.

They were talking about this on MOTD3 [wanna link..? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19866689 ] and although I was pleased with the pundits comments overall, I was disappointed that Jason Roberts made a case for going-down-easy [<- think there's a John Martyn song of a similar name] when being tackled, so as to swing a referee into awarding a penalty. I can see the temptation but I don't like it. A player should try to stay on his feet in the penalty area. I can remember well playing competitively, and being brought up to play the game by the rules, it didn't even enter my head that one should lose one's footing if one was tackled in certain parts of the pitch and not others.

One striking thing I remember from the latest MOTD3 was that Lawrenson told the story of when Lineker had signed for Real Madrid, and the subject of falling over in the penalty area had come up. And they literally encouraged him to do it. It was part of the skill in football, according to them. Well not in the game I grew up to play and love.

No, remember 'Arry is supposedly meant for bigger things. And in the meantime, he has his huge soft spot for Bournemouth & Boscombe Utd. So he's going to mentor Eddie Howe. ;)

It's weird that, he seems like a really nice guy off the pitch, but on the pitch he is a diver which is horrible to see.

Good! They loaned out a perfectly capable (not to mention expensive) striker to west ham, all in the name of Rodgers "imposing his brand of football" on the club. What brand is that, cheating brand? He'll be made to look a right **** and be sacked ay the end of the season

Rodgers was expecting a replacement for Carroll that he didn't get. I don't think Carroll is the greatest thing since sliced bread, but who would let a striker of that quality go to a rival.

I just think it's slightly selfish and egotistical to let your best striker go just because he's not exactly the kind of player he would have signed. Not that I give a stuff about Liverpool anyway.
