I hate the Go Compare adds because Wynne Evans is actually very talented, but he'll always be tainted with the tag of "the Go Compare guy". Plus the adverts are **** and annoying (same for the ****ing meerkat adverts). Most adverts these days are **** - however this is one of my favourites (Pretty sure it's US only, never seen it on UK TV). It doesn't even try to be subtle.

I think they did a similar one for the Galaxy S II but who cares

Those annoying adverts are successful because of the majority they are aimed at. It's called the 80%ers. Check out how many people read the sun, the mirror, the express and mail; look at the prime time tv schedule. They are aimed at the largest majority in our country and they are not the most demanding in their intellectual stimulation. The marketing people know who they are aiming at.

I hate that ad, and it's on like every five minutes here. Like you said, it's completely unsubtle so just seeing it once is enough to get the message, but it comes on again and again and again...

It makes we want to pick up the nearest hurl-able object and throw it at the screen. In an interesting twist of fate, the nearest object is usually my Samsung Galaxy SIII.

Any Red Dwarf fans on here? Did you catch the new series on Dave? I thought it was fantastic. Made no attempt to attract a new audience and simply picked up the stupidity from where it left off years ago.

I wanted to ask Bob myself, but as he and this thread both live in the same device I couldn't work out how to do it. That's very impressive Channon, perhaps you could enlighten me?

It started off badly though. The first 3 or four jokes were really cringy. Was the pig racing scene at the begining even a joke?

Yeah I thought it was good. I'm glad they didn't make a big deal out of it being a comeback, and they just dove straight into it without any cheesy introduction. It was just like a regular old episode, which is probably what most people were hoping for.

it is unbelievable really. I think issues like this should be dealt with by the Premier League as it really isn't good for the profile of the game.

I don't think any episode has ever had what I'd call "100% material" but they certainly got the weaker stuff out of the way early on!

Some really flash gits have an iPhone, an iPad and a laptop. But then as my brother once observed," he who has the most toys, wins!"

He'd been feeling **** past few days and I got some sort of hunch when he told me his symptoms. Sent him to the doctors and they said even though it wasn't quite meningitis, but close enough for us to be slightly worried about it. Admittedly I have dressed it up slightly, but oh well.

He should be fine anyway, think we got it before it got really bad.

Don't knock it. I've done similar things myself, in diagnosing work colleagues symptoms. Should we not give you a new nickname of Doc..? ;)

I've been getting quite close to deciding on a Smartphone, as it would make my job/leisure quite a bit easier, in a lot of ways. The Galaxy SII is leading the way at the moment, because it is all that I could possibly want, for the forseeable future, and because of the SIII and other competition, it is getting very keenly priced on contract. Would you believe, but it was this part of the thread that made me go off, last night, and do some proper research into specifications, rather than just dreaming along. Of course, I should have gone to bed, but that's another story. :)

    Did someone mention nightshift..?

If you mentioned which particular iteration of the Galaxy you have, I missed it. Which one..?
