Talking about soundtracks, can anyone help with this one..? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLVIq2oMnT0

Start the video at 2.03 or 57.40 and you get violins, cellos and double basses sounding wonderful. I've heard it many times before. I even know what it's called, but it has GONE from my memory and simply refuses to be retrieved. Help..! :)

Skyfall is ok...the writer produced a reasonable Bondy song from a very difficult title. A cringy bit is where she sings overdoo instead of overdue..Bond is an English character after all.

I'm permanently home from Uni now until I find a job and a new place to live. The nice bed and nice food is very welcome, but the lack of a social life in these parts is not.

Getting a lot of hours in on Skyrim though.

Well, I had a word with my mate Bob Shazam, and he thinks that the music is Toto and Alfredo by Unione Musicsti of Rome.

But he is probably just showing off........

The only issue with being at home is I can't constantly nag my housemates about lights and heating. I'll get back and find the heating on full blast, every light on and the oven on full heat without anything in it, just to piss me off. So much nicer having food cooked for you, though.

Being back at uni has reminded me going out kind of sucks, it's much more fun staying in and getting pissed.

I didn't really have to worry about utilities as we were all apparently happy to sit in the dark and freeze our nuts off. Staying in and getting pissed is the best, but only if everyone fully commits to the goal of getting pissed. That didn't happen often enough at my place, but going out kind of ensures that people will commit to being drunk, because how else will you tolerate the music?

A good night in Harpenden is hard to come by. The pubs are lame and expensive, and the "house parties" can be very weird. One time it was wine, cheese and Trivial Pursuit. I really wish I was making that up.

Yeah that's very true, nights can drag like mad if people don't fancy drinking much. Damn right about the music though - the other night they played Gangnam Style at least three times. Doing the dance was fun the first time, tiresome the second time and painful the third (which was almost sober anyway). Mixed in with One Direction and Flo Rida, there's no way it'd be tolerable sober.

Wine, cheese and trivial pursuit actually sounds quite fun. More enjoyable than sitting around slightly tipsy with people you don't really like trying to think of things to do until everybody gives up and goes home at 11.

Do you not like your housemates? I liked two of mine - one really old mate from school and his girlfriend. The other two were an Indian guy and a Norwegian girl who we advertised for to fill the other two rooms. They were no fun at all. The Norwegian girl used to moan every day that she could hear AND SMELL my mate and his girlfriend having sex. She used to leave them notes and air fresheners outside their door. She must have had a ****ing amazing nose.

The two fun housemates were awesome to drink with, but they got fed up of it all and moved out early, leaving me with the annoying ones. They very rarely got drunk, so I had to go out for a good night.

I'm glad I got out of Uni before Gangnam Style. That would really have annoyed me. Rebecca Black was hard enough to tolerate.

Oh my housemates are fine, my "people you don't really like, going home by 11" situation was about a "one last meet up" with college friends before uni last year that just sucked. Kind of sucks that you were left with two crappy housemates (despite little miss super nose who must have spent her whole student loan on air fresheners), guess you'd have been going around to visit other friends a lot? Of my housemates, one has been one of my best friends since year 7, the other two I lived in Halls with last year - one is pretty quiet but very easy to get on with, the other can be a laugh but has enough annoying tendencies to make me want to headbutt him.

Gangnam Style is ****ing stupid - the crappy DJ said "And here's the one you've all been requesting on Twitter all night..." leaving me genuinely wondering what other crap is currently popular, before ****ing Gangnam Style started again. I'd love to know who was requesting a 'song' they'd already played twice, and how they got into uni.

Nope, you [I mean your mate, Bob] are not showing off. You're right. I've scanned the length and breadth of Cinema Paradiso and Ennio Morricone compositions on Youtube and never unearthed it. Perhaps I should say Shazam..! You've put me out of my misery..! :)

Yeah I have no idea how it got so big. I reckon it's because most people, deep down, just have this urge to laugh at chubby Koreans. If it had been a white American singing it, I don't think anyone would care. It's the same reason that the Italian "Go Compare" guy and that ****ing meerkat were such successful ads - stupid people enjoy funny accents and racial stereotypes.

Sorry to butt in chaps, but I'd like to make a point on the GoCompare tenor and the Comparethemarket meerkats . I actually dislike them a lot, because they invade my life, and I might even possibly hate the meerkats because of that half joke that they utter. It was semi-funny once. Possibly not even once. However, I do like the MoneySupermarket adverts on the radio when Patrick Stewart shouts to all that we are soooo money supermarket, we don't even know it. For some unfathomable reason I smile. I have tried to find the root of the humour but I can't. The closest I can get to an answer is that PS shouts with great enthusiasm, and then makes his second point in muted fashion, and the juxtaposition of the two emotions intrigues me. Strangely, I don't feel compelled to use money supermarket, or the others, for that matter. Each to their own, I suppose. :)
