My point is Beckham is 36!!Do we really want to go down this road, let's look to bring in Prem quality in Bassong and Defoe and a couple of promising youngsters like Rhodes.

I think we should keep to the plan and only bring in experienced Prem players.
We need to concentrate on staying up.
Get the young players in, but not in the 25.
I don't think we can afford to take a gamble with kids until we hopefully become established.

I'll quote the "legendary" Alan Hansen: "You never win anything with kids"

I'm not saying we should buy four 36 year olds, but that Beckham' upsides far outweigh the downsides.

Bassong, Beckham, Defoe and a youngster or two (that doesn't need to be included in the 25). This will give us new blood in every department.

But wouldn't any pro wanna play with Beckham? It would instantly improve stock and status just being near him cos of the media. The media has a GIGANTIC influence on everything. We only just got Barton and SWP, and I think we all know we weren't their first choice clubs to go too. If Barton hadn't joined neither would have SWP or Ferdinand. Beckham would be like the Pied-Piper!!

Beckham, Barton and Ter-rabbit in the same changing room. I don't think I can imagine 3 more different characters. Go for it Neil!

I would love Beckham to appear in the Hoops.
Imagine the anticipation as he waits in the tunnel for his first game.
    The ground would be rocking.

DB is a soccerball icon, the whole globe would be focused on QPR,
The media attention we would get would be phenomenal.

It wouldn't be a distraction to the players, he would be an inspiration.

Think of Loftus Road, when Jason Puncheon warms up. ....?? Exactly.
Then imagine what it would be like to see David Beckham climb out of the dug-out, and jog along the touch-line,
give a little nod to Sir Neil, .... Yes Sir Neil, '' I'm ready to appear in this cauldron of dreams ''
The board goes up.. Beckham runs onto the hallowed turf that is Loftus Road.

Life is all about the 'Kodak moments.'

Beckham playing for QPR, will give you one of these.

And if you still don't think DB has anything to offer....
name a better Free-Kick , Corner taker or passer of the ball in our current squad?

And while i'm at it.. ' He get's injured a lot.'
    I say Kieron Dyer.

Who would you rather have in your 25?

    The Defence rest's your honour....

Warnocks comments seem strange since he was quoted last week as saying we wouldn't stand a chance of getting beckham.

We wouldn't lose anything with beckham, he'd be a free transfer and seeing as whoever he moves to will be doing him a favour then I doubt he'll be asking for a top wage. He is the richest footballer ever.

I'm sure becks is also realistic that wherever he goes he's not going to be first choice and will just be making the bench look pretty, but he'll want to go to whichever team will give him the most minutes of football, which well could be us.

If course we are playing well at the moment, but the fulham match is not that long ago. Throw in the odd suspension ala Saturday with Barton out, then when the inevitable injuries and we are still thread bare.

Beckham in my opinion would be a simple decision of yes, if he did want to come to us. The guy is still class and was still playing for England a year ago. He might only come in for the odd 20 mins here and there, but over night everyone in football will be reading and hearing about QPR and you can't put a price on that kind of global advertising.

    Exactly, LoneRanger.
We have nothing to lose..ie, a win win situation.
Christ almighty, we were celebrating Hulse's arrival about a year ago.
    Look where we stand today.

I think Warnock has changed his stance on this since 'Arry said Beckham wouldn't get in the Spurs team, look at them last night, pace all over the park, Beckham would be slow-motion in that team!

If we do sign him i reckon the misses will be coming to more games !!

On a serious note I would say 6 month contract then great, he will be 37 in the summer, don't need a longer contract than that. I reckon he may retire after the olympics anyway.

But agree with Northy yet again , don't need a circus this season just need to be solid, stay up and build...

Becks is a dead ball specialist. Look at our free kicks and corners this season...absolute tosh.

Beckham will want London / Paris etc etc. He will want high profile. He could go to Chelsea but other than that I can't see any other London side taking him.

He will want UK profile leading up to the Olympics.

He signs for 6 months, uses Swiss Tony's Asian connections to open further possibilities for brand Beckham.

He comes on as sub with 20 to go in 10 matches (replacing Faurlin / Barton etc etc and picks up £100k a week or somesuch. As long as we stay up then it can't 'hurt' his image.

He would attract better players to us during the Jan transfer window.

    Quite possible this could happen

Beckham says Manchester United are only English club for him

    Tuesday, November 22, 2011

Former Red Devils star seemingly rules out move to Spurs or QPR

QPR and Spurs target David Beckham has seemingly ruled out a move to England due to his loyalty to former club Manchester United.

The 36-year-old's LA Galaxy contract expires next month and he has been linked with a host of clubs, with Paris St Germain said to be leading the race for his signature.

"I've played for the biggest club in my eyes in England, and I couldnt see myself playing in another English shirt, he told BBC Radio One.

"I have a decision to make and I haven't made it yet.I've got options, which is amazing at my age. A couple of big European clubs are after me.

"I need to sit down with friends and family and decide what's best for me. I might still be here next year playing."
