I bloody well hope he's taking it seriously, I want a gold medal for Great Britain and it's great experience for younger players in a tournament of a much higher profile than the U21's/U19's European Championships.
Having seen the lengths some of the people from other sports are going to to get included and the tears at the UK athletics champs for people who came 3rd at the weekend, it seems wrong to send someone just to sell tickets or because he fancies it. On the other hand, football at the Olympics is a pointless joke. The best people in all the other sports and an U23 tournament with older people randomly thrown in for football, why? I firmly agree with the idea that if it is not the pinnacle of the sport then it should not be added to the Olympics. Tennis is also a silly addition and I think they are also talking about golf!
Hmm... Olympic Golf. Might try and join Team GB's Golf side should this come to play. I have a pretty nice swing. Realistically though, that's just stupid. You can't have Golf at the Olympics.
Deluded.... prey tell why Chazz, ..... just because i don`t rate monkey boy, doesn`t make it deluded, in the 20+ years he has been at Man Utd I can honestly remember a handful of games where he has not disappeared during the course of the game, his delivery for a `so called` superstar is p1ss poor most of the time, perhaps its you dear chap thats taken in by the media hype surrounding him !!!
I find it odd that so many people are takiing about Giggs on this thread. He's still a very good player, but Bellamy? He is the one we should be moaning about. He's a twat, loads of other players hate him and he isn't even that good. Why is he one of our overage players?
They say we should give youngsters a chance which i agree upon. But what would they learn from having a former England captain out on the pitch with them? What pointers would he be able to give to the aspiring wingers, the leadership he could give on the pitch to them. Think about how much we have missed Ian Ashbee, its a similar kind of thing. I just don't get why Bellamy, if its for footballing reasons fair enough but your telling me we couldn't find someone better than Bellamy? And whether we like it or not football is a business, if football stops making money the game wouldn't be here. So you can't not think of the financial implications.
Giggs and Beckham on each wing would have been fun to watch, why the **** is that **** bellamy in there I don't know.
