I sorry, but no-one on here has a clue about his wages etc. I understand the idea you're trying to say, but seeing as I've never read this, heard this and no-one can produce any evidence to this being true, and the first time this has been spoken of was on this thread...I think it's bullshit. Even if it was true, which it might well be (but you wouldn't have any idea whether it was or wasn't!), I still don't understand what people are trying to criticise him for. If his club were trying to get rid, then how can you blame him for leaving. He hasn't left the Premier League for a pay rise at Barnsley, he's left it for a club that is and was showing serious intention to get to the Premier League.
I know he didn't leave for a pay rise. The pay rise is nice, but he'd have done without it to keep playing in the PL. He left because Everton needed the money and he was forced out of the door. I don't think Beckford is a money grabber personally. He left Leeds not because of wages, but because he had an opportunity to go to the Premier League. He's had a relatively short career, we picked him from non-league when he was 24, so I don't blame him for taking his chance at the first opportunity. Of course, Everton being skint means his career has had to take a step back, which is a shame as he's a good player.
