Yeah you're right about him being a passenger, and McCormack is a better player. I still think that with him upfront, even as a passenger, he'd still score a lot and the team would have scored more in total as a result. Pace and movement upfront can be very effective, which is something we now lack. McCormack makes great runs but especially now Gradel's gone, we lack a player who can stretch a defence with his speed. Even if we were getting a fast striker to play primarily from the bench, as you suggested Beckford as a supersub, could make a lot of difference when chasing a game. Look at Simeon Jackson at Norwich last season, he came off the bench and scored a lot of vital goals late on.
