Not a co-incidence that yet another player feels they are not getting their worth? Johnson, Kenny, Howson, Gradel, Clayton, now Becchio - Nothing has changed, we wish to cash in on a player so we turn the blame on them stating they have demanded too much. Why not keep Becchio finish the season and see where we are? At the end of this season he still has 12 months on his contract... There should be NO rush to sell unless of course GFH are broke.

On the subject of them being broke, which we both suspect, I wonder will the extra million from fa cup run be given to Warnock. They're already stating he will be given the Becchio money. Surely cup revenue generated by the team should be spent strengthening the team and there is also the little matter of the League Cup revenue

League Cup run was over before GFH took over, so all the money from that is already with Bates

I have no gripe with GFH trying to make us profitable, I don't believe that should be too hard. I don't mind them not giving Warnock £10m to spend, I don't mind them reinvesting sales on new players, I just wish they would be transparent as promised and actually update us on what they have and don't have and what the long term plan is.

I don't know about anyone else but to me it feels like Bates is still totally in charge. What has changed, transfer window comes round and instead of being excited about the prospect of strengthening what we have the talk is on who is leaving.

Fair point. How about the FA cup money? Presume you would expect to see that reinvested in team strengthening?

To be fair to them, it's been cloak and dagger stuff since start of takeover eight months ago. Why are we expecting them to suddenly become transparent when they cant apparently run the club without harvey and bates involvement. The two individuals that hid everything for the past eight years

I understand your desire but its just not logically business sense to put everything out into the public. No club has complete transparency and I challenge you to find one that does

I would say closer to 20k you smart ass (Wasn't it said that when he signed his last contract it was for 14k?)

Which I believe is completely fair

Another point people forget, a player earning 20k a week in England might take home a considerable amount less than on the same wage in some other countries. Might be one of the reasons Turkey is an option for Becchio when money is clearly such a big issue for him

It's a disgrace how can anyone be expected to live on £20k a week.

I can see where you are coming from but from his point of view the tax man will take £10k a week leaving him a healthy £10k to live on but what when his playing career is over? He needs to ensure he is financially secure for the rest of his life. Say his career ends at 34-35 and he lives to be 85 that is 50 years living off his savings without any kind of inflation rise.

Yes we can all say he can go and get a proper job but seriously what is he going to do, stack shelves at Tesco? If I were a professional footballer I would do exactly the same just as ANYONE would on here and that would be get the best possible contract possible to ensure as pleasant a possible future.

Say his goals get us promoted, he might be on a decent wage but how much would his goals be worth to the owners on promotion to the Premier League £35,000,000 maybe in the first year alone?

Again I am not saying break the bank to keep him but he is under contract for 18 months and despite what some others feel I do not believe 6 months down the line will reduce his overall value by much. It might increase his value if he bags another ten goals and we earn promotion.

Twitter is alight with rumours that Norwich (!) are taking Becchio off our hands for £3.5m plus Morison. Mirror running with the story too (surprise, surprise!).

I suppose they could use the £3.5m to commission a massive solid gold statue of our saviour. Can't think what else they would spend it on.

Wonder if it'll take 7 months to negotiate the Becchio deal?

This is the Sun's version ...

Remarkably Leeds will have to pay cash — around £1m — plus Becchio to get forward Morison, 29.

I find that rather laughable, Moro was good last season but next to bloody useless this time round. If this 'swap' went ahead (and I have my doubts) Leeds would be mad to part with any money imo.

Unconfirmed reports Becchio has moved to Norwich
2 Reliable sources have told me this. Unconfirmed until we hear news from the club. This is all I know at this stage.
