Hes not rubbish. One of the few bright lights we had over the past few seasons. Just because he hasnt made it or been given a chance to in the pl with an average Norwich outfit certainly does not make him rubbish in my book. If he is, I dread to think how you would describe our current lot

He's rubbish in their eyes Eire, is what I meant <ok>

Good enough for Leeds, not good enough for Norwich - it's embarrassing

I see what you mean LIE. Still, you never know, a year is a lifetime in football. You'd never know where Norwich and Leeds will be in a season or two. We could be picking at their sad carcas hopefully

I disagree. After been shocking the previous season, he has a good/great half season and get's his head turned by the Premier League with all his old buddies. I believed Bates pushed a few out of our club (Kasper, Howson ect) but I think Snoddy and Becchio wanted to play in the Prem and especially Becchio spat on us after we were so patient with him. I knew Norwich give him no where near the amount of time we gave him to shine and so he can rot for all I care.

I think you can have players back, but not if they wanted out. Coming back, whatever they say, their heart won't be in it.

So with Becchio, it depends what really happened - was "his head turned" really and we just made the best of a bad job, taking Morison as a replacement that NW thought was ok, or was he actually encouraged to leave because either/both os NW did not rate him and Bates wanted to sell?

I don't know which it truly was.

By the way, I would not blame him even if he had wanted out, as he had given us good service over a number of years and any player his age deserves the chance to try it at a higher level if they want that. So I don't agree with the "rot in Norwich" sentiments (I thought thats what everyone did in Norwich, anyway). But if he did not want out, I would not want him back, for the reason above - a player who wanted out will never be as motivated if they come back.

Trouble is, in the atmosphere we had at that time, many fans did not really feel they knew what was truly happening, there were always so many conflicting stories. I assume there are people in the club who know - if we pushed him out (and if we did it was a mistake) then I'd have him back. If he wanted out at the time and was pushing for it, I would not.

Regardless of why he left, I'd have him back. Remember the previous season, lorimer and co tried to shift him in January window and he refused to go. After four and a half years sterling service, I think he was justified in looking for a move. He was at a club which at best was stagnating and selling or sold all best talent, at worst was going backwards. If any of us worked for a company being so badly run and had opportunity of doubling our wages with a far better run outfit, we would jump at it. I don't buy into this argument that all players that have left should be treated with contempt. Unfortunately it has always been the Leeds way

Over the years, we heard how each player show subsequently left was a greedy so-and-so, etc. Succesively, it came out that it was really the club that was being unreasonable. Once, perhaps it is a rumour. Twice, maybe a coincidence. Multiple times - pretty obvious to me.

As I recollect, the coaching staff were coming out with repeated statements about him going. Sounded like they were doing their best to flog him.

    Your Mileage May Vary.

    Cheers Jonny. 2nd can opened.

I didn't mean the way those players left, I was saying that all three players have divided opinions between us Leeds United fans...but once again I'll just say none of them will be returning....<cheers>
