If we’re being serious for a minute, it has made me question more of what we see. Of course i understand selective editing but i didn’t think it would be something that would apply to a tv quiz show. Why would they do that? But then it becomes pretty obvious, if they’d shown the other parts there would have been zero social engagement, nobody is talking about the programme and then they might not tune in next time to get angry at the latest ****.

I was even warned in an email specifically not to look at social media while it was airing, so they 100% knew it was coming. I’ll defo be more aware of this watching tv in the future.

It was interesting watching the twitter chatter before i went up, everyone knew i would go low when we had 3 home and so much in the bank. I assume therefore this must happen a lot (i don’t watch it).

I hardly ever watch TV quiz shows these days, but found your insights/experiences quite interesting.

Fairplay for being a decent sport about the piss takes too.

Why do you keep saying you don't watch it.
I've never watched it In my life, apart from the fanny smeller clip, so there is no chance I'd go on it.
You must have seen it and thought Ye I can do this. I need the money. Which Is fair enough.
You have to have watched it to comprehend it and understand how to play it.

I swear on my mother’s life i had never seen it until i got my live audition. It was actually my mum who text me one day to say ‘The chase are looking for contestants, you should apply’. She’d seen it in a magazine and sent me a link.

Even in my phone auditions i didn’t know how the game itself worked, but they were just general knowedge questions and personality interviews.

Then when i got my live audition and i was told we would be playing The Chase i watched a few episides to see how it worked. Then when i got through and was told i was filming i watched some more to suss out the strengths / weaknesses of the Chasers.

I’ve probably seen a dozen episodes tops in my life, including the one i was on.

Im the same.

Even when we was in the PL it was a ****ing joke.

Complete waste of money.

As well as disagreeing with it and the whole idea of paying a monthly subscription and then extra for one-off big events - how the **** does that work? - it also doesn’t show anything that i want to watch.

This thread has been an emotion roller coaster for me.

I've always suspected that although many people on here come across as argumentative, narcissistic, annoying, sociopaths that in real life you're all most quite nice people with normal families, friends and work mates.

Then it turns out that no Bummers actually is a complete arsehole in real life and my faith in humanity was restored.

However, Bummers then shows up and gives an entirely reasonable explanation of the events that lead up to the "act". The real Bummers wasn't a narcissistic bum face but a hero who took one for the team so all might prosper! And to boot he exposed Gary, previous 100% hero, as a sham hiding within a fraud. My faith was again rocked to its foundations.

Then I thought about it. Bummers explanation is SOOOOO 100% Bummers. It's entirely plausible, while being completely un-provable or disprovable, it makes the Ginger one completely in right AND discredits that tosser Gaz. Faith RESTORED

Now I don't know where the truth lies but I do know either way Bummers you are a LEGEND sir and I salute you.
