Without real explanation why, they then re-shot it with a different question, which he got right. They then made a big fuss throughout about him being the only person ever to get every single one of his questions right.

I recall as an 8 year old watching the BBC coverage of the Falklands conflict and seeing the men of 3 Para burying their friends after the battle of Mt Longdon.

Something resonated in me as I watched hard men stood at a mass graveside on the far side of the world as their brothers in arms were lowered into the ground.

They did not flinch, they did not cry, they did not bend or break. They stood like men; cold , steely and determined.

Those feelings came flooding back for the first time since 1982 as Bummers stole that 5 large on The Chase.

It needed doing and he did it. It was highly impressive.

A ****ing machine.

Which part wasnt ‘very good’?

Was it getting chosen to appear in the first place from 150,000 applicants and being only 2 chosen from the live audition of more than 100 or do you mean getting 6 on my cashbuilder - 1 second from 7 - or getting 2 right and a pushback in the final round that won the 20k?

Which was it?

General knowledge is generally a sign of a sad **** who has nothing better to do than watch too much tv and read to many books and magazines.

Very true.

From personal experience, to expose, in most cases - ask them 'why?'

No harm in it, but revealing in itself of those who laud it.
