I totally agree Stan, if your an F1 driver and your sat in an Adrian Newey car then happy days. I have still witnessed good drivers overcome the limitations of their car. A certain Mr Hill driving an Arrows car springs to mind. He would have won that race had his car not given up the ghost on the last lap.
Must admit I was a tad bemused by that as McGinley wasn't eaxactly a Coach, surely it should go to someone who actually coaches a team.......
I used to watch SPOTY from start to finish and it was similar to watching the FA cup final for me. I didn't even bother to watch it this year. It has become so cheesy and over-long imo. I've recorded it, but I probably won't get around to watching it!
In what way mate? You'd be ruling out all football/rugby etc Managers too and I'm not sure if that leaves an awful lot to choose from.
Not being a petrol spotter, I'm not a fan of F1. In terms of achievements it should've been McIlroy for the two majors, Jo Pavey for her longevity and Sam Burgess (who disgracefully wasnt even nominated) for his NRL win.
