You could say we overtook you last year due to getting to the FA Cup final. Ignoring that, Newcastle have failed to beat little HULL CITY in the last 4 home meetings between the clubs. Therefore, on that basis I would have thought you would not automatically expect a win. Just for the record, large attendances, trophies etc do not entitle you to win future football matches. Thanks for Ben Arfa and enjoy your day.
Expectations are fine but they should be based on current times and realism. ATM like it or not Newcastle are no better than Hull City. Realism should dictate that Newcastle should aim to beat Hull City at home I agree but on the flip side Hull City should aim to beat Newcastle at home. It's the second point you seem to be unable to accept. Your posts proved as such and it is this that gets your fan base the reputation it has. Also let us not forget that in recent history (2008-09) you were relegated in the same year we were not so it's not like your recent history is stellar is it. We are still on topic BTW.
Do you think its more realistic to expect to beat a team that finished 6 places and 12 points ahead of us or a newly promoted team? Hence the example used.
Or a team with the WORST form in the league V's a team with the 10th best form ATM which is far more relevant.
10th in 2014-15 with 1L 3D 1W. Newcastle bottom with 2L 3D 0W. Even if we use the 2014 stat it just backs up the point that if Newcastle should aim to Beat Hull City at home then it stands to reason that Hull City should aim to beat Newcastle at home.
The point still stands that Newcastle are not really any better off than we are something the Newcastle poster failed to take into account when he failed to mention them in teams we should be aiming to beat. Instead he clearly thinks we should be aiming to beat the 3 that came up instead of looking up the league which is something that his team is supposed to be doing.
Prior to the match (based on newcastle being bottom and the pardew effect) I thought we had a bloody good chance of a 4th straight victory up in Geordieland. We played awful but on 70 minutes 2 up, I thought we should have clinched the win. To me, there are very few games that I expect us to win in the Premier League. I am always hopeful, but also a realist. As proved by all the results yesterday, no game is a given.
Newcastle Radio live in a fantasy world. Why worry about a station that nobody outside of Newcastle cares about. Let them think that they are the best team on the planet and we are rubbish. Lol.
Who's worried ? Point (again) both BBC local radio stations. Newcastle get 100% behind the club and in Hull they let any **** stirrer who can be arsed say what they like about us totally unopposed.
That's utter bollocks though. If Manchester City were bottom with 0 points and we had the exact same result, a point, would you be gutted to be coming away from the Etihad with a draw? Newcastle are a far more established team than us, anybody who follows football will make that comparison and therefore most would've had this down as a close game. As a lot of people seem to be getting confused about, we're only 5 games into the season, where teams are in the table at the moment (Chelsea aside) aren't going to be true reflections of the end of the season. Don't get the 'little old Hull City' syndrome, face it, in the Premier League we're a small to mid-range club. We can aim to beat teams like Newcastle, sure, just like we should aim to beat everybody who comes to the KC, whether it's Liverpool, Blackpool, Hartlepool or Poole Town. But it's not because they're inferior in club size, it's because we think City can win. In the same respect, don't find it surprising that a Newcastle fan thinks that their team can win. They think we're an inferior club to them. In terms of club size, fan base, success, they're probably right. In terms of playing ability, strength in depth, I don't think we're too far behind. Put it this way, if we're anything like Newcastle in 5 years time (minus the ****bag owner and the crying shirtless fans) I'd be well chuffed.
If you can tell me one occasion we've smashed our town up because we've got beat, or you can tell us one occasion we tried to have a game stopped because we were getting beat then I'll put my hands up and say we're worse. You won't because you're talking s**te. There's no way we have anywhere near the self entitlement they have and I can prove it all day long, but as you set the accusation (no doubt based entirely on comments on a message board ) go ahead and prove how we're worse. Newcastle aren't in the same league as Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal. They are the top teams really. The others near the top are decent but not elite.
