    Again, zzzzzz.

Put simply, you're wrong. All fans expect wins in certain fixtures. You hear it on radio stations, you see it on soccer Saturday, you read it time and time again on here..."team X really should be beating team Y".

I can assure you Man Utd expected to be higher than their present position which itself means they expected to beat Burnley, Leicester etc. I can assure you Everton would have expected to beat Palace yesterday, if they didn't why we're there boos at full time? Even your very own manager stated that he expected to beat Burnley. Chris Hughton was sacked by Norwich because they weren't winning the games they expected to win. That last statement pretty much goes for any manager that loses his job.

It's got nothing to do with learning respect, it's just called honesty.

Funny seeing a Sunderland fan saying this. He might be right but Sunderland are probably even worse for it.

You're miles out PLT, one half of the Tyne is called Newcastle, the other half is called Gateshead, it's like only counting those in West Hull as City fans.

The actual population of Tyneside is not far off 800k, it's way bigger than Hull(if fact it's bigger than the entire population of East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire combined).

    Your spot on with this.

A team that finished 10th last season should be expecting to beat a team that finished 6 places and 12 points below them at home, its not arrogant at all.

Even with the tight boundary? Newcastle's is much tighter, it doesnt include Gateshead which is just ridiculous.

    What he said.

We were talking about Newcastle and Hull, not Gateshead or Barton.

You're making yourself look daft, half of Newcastle's support is from Gateshead, pretending it doesn't exist is ridiculous.

And just as a side issue, over half of Hull City's season ticket holders don't live in Hull.

I'm never expecting a win against anyone because people get beaten by teams 'lower' than them every week! And we never ****ing beat burnley.

There are games where I think we have a good chance of winning, but to say you expect a win is ridiculous.

No, that's not what I said at all.

If fans never had any expectations then no manager would ever lose his job, no owner would ever be criticised and so on and so forth. My point is ALL fans of ALL clubs have certain expectations. For example, if you draw Hartlepool at home in the FA Cup are you telling me you wouldn't expect to win?

    No, independent traveller.
And the point of my original post seems to have been lost, which is hard to believe on here.
Point being Radio Humberside Sports do read out all the negative stuff without ever questioning the source or the points being raised.
Classic one was when we were travelling home from Elland Road after City had just beaten them a couple of seasons back. RH let a Leeds U fan on pretending to be a City fan. Within seconds he ridiculed everything about us, small club, never won anything, always be in Leeds shadow and so on.......and they let him whinge on for seemingly ever without once questioning him or pulling him up with a few home truths, in fact they were actually agreeing with him! Lads on our bus rang RH immediately, pointing this out, and asking for the right to reply. What do you think happened?
We got the dame response from our local BBC radio station as we got from BBC Radio Newcastle. Nothing.

No that is EXACTLY what he posted.
When talking about Newcastle's aims he mentioned Sunderland and Hull. Then when talking about Sunderland and Hull's aims he mentioned the 3 team that came up.

Newcastle fans don't have inflated ego's though obviously.

Your aims are Sunderland and Hull, ours are the 3 that came up. Those are YOUR words not mine.

You have just confirmed your view by comparing Newcastle Vs Hull with Hull Vs Harlepool.
You not up yourself though obviously.

You've missed my point completely but for the record I do expect Newcastle to be better than Palace, Sunderland and Hull. Regardless of the trophies we haven't won in the past 60 years, we're the most successful of the three in last 15-20 years in the sense that we've been in Europe, spent the most time in the Premier League, have the biggest support (in terms of fans attending home and away games), have the most financial muscle (pre Allam) etc.

Palace, Hull and Sunderland (to a much lesser extent) aren't clubs you'd necessarily associate with the Premier League if you didn't know English football too well. I'm not going to apologise for expecting a certain level of performance from my club. It may well be that as a club you over take us in the next couple of years, but if that was to happen I'd be naturally disappointed due to the points I've just made.

What did Newcastle Radio say about the biggest ever football protest that was lined up for last Saturday?

I see your point, BBC Radio Newcastle is 100% supportive of Newcastle United, Sunderland have a seperate station, BBC Radio Wear. The BBC should split Radio Humberside up as well, north bank, south bank, football, eggchasing, all seperate.
Some of the texts ours read out are clearly eggchasing WUM's and should be edited out.

You either don't want to understand or are incapable of understanding.

Just on the small chance that it isn't the latter I'll explain one more time.

Forgetting Newcastle, forgetting Hull. ALL fans of ALL teams expect certain things from their club and there is nothing wrong with that. If clubs and their supporters didn't have expectations then how would a manager, his players and the club as a whole be judged?

How would success and failure be calculated without expectations?

Anyway I'm going to leave it at that as we've taken this thread massively off topic, for which I apologise.
